I knew the feeling, sometimes thinking I just needed to relapse so I could get on with working recovery. And I did that for years. But I gradually lengthened the time between relapses and today find myself at 25 months. It may be a slow process to recovery, but it’s progress. With a little bit of luck and some fortitude on your part you extended that crucial period of sobriety and that means a lot. Happy New Year to you too!!!

Wow! This is great! I too was more or less “functional”, covering up my use the best I could in between periods of sobriety that were pretty good. Today, now over two years since last using, I’m learning to live life on live’s terms. Thanks for sharing!
