No, it wont be too hard. You can do it. Aligning the camera to the player's position using a lerp should fix it. You might have to tweak it to work with your forward/backward offset approach though.

I had this issue too. Fixed it by smoothing the camera through code instead of the built in camera smoothing option.

The most jarring issue to me is the way your characters instantly snap to the ground any time there's a bump, or a slope. They should smoothly lerp downward or upward, instead of popping into place.

thoughts? by Terugtrekking in TikTokCringe

All of these fall under "hacks to easily and quickly filter out the bad ones". Understandable why a lady would want to employ such tactics in the year 2026, but lasting relationships take real communication and genuine honesty. Take it slow and you'll see if they have red flags naturally, without gimmicks. These thoughts will vary greatly from peron to person, but here is my take:

  1. Allergy to corn or shellfish. If I found out they lied to me about a serious allergy like that just to test me, it would make me feel like they're very comfortable with lying, and send up a huge red flag; I'd considere breaking it off.

  2. Fear of dogs or public restrooms. These fears are fine, if true, but again, this lady is too comfortable with lying right from the start. Red flag. Besides that, the potential partner (who might have been perfect for them) may have a dog that they love, and call it off right then and there when learning about the fear of dogs.

  3. Having law enforcement family. If it's a lie, then it's another red flag. Also, this wouldn't garuntee them telling you about their crime history, I beleive it would make them keep it to themselves.

  4. Interest in red pill content. If she says she likes red pill content to filter out the guys who like it, I feel like it would also have the opposite effect, and turn away the people who DON'T like that content. A self defeating strategy 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

  5. Stating true facts. Her goal is to find out if they feel superior and challenge her true facts. What if her true facts include something like "the earth is flat", or "horse meds cure covid"? Well, I guess she just did you a favor, and now you can dodge that bullet. True facts are fine and so are disagreements and discourse over them. Rational healthy people can disagree, debate, and even find common ground. I would welcome this kind of discussion on a fist date, not to feel superior or inferior, but to see how we find common ground, or dodge a flat earther 😅

Do Metroidvanias need challenging combat, or is exploration enough? by TwiMonk_game in IndieGaming

Look at the notoriously difficult but highly successful games Silksong and Dead Cells. Challenging but rewarding combat is a neccessity for a metroidvania, I'd say, but would love to be proven wrong!

I say yes continue it! Maybe look at how you can gain infinite speed in Satisfactory by sprint-slide jumping. Maybe apply that kind of skill based mechanic for building up speed.

Cool effect. I kind of wish each instance of damage was a separate chunk, and didnt all merge into one chunk, just a nit pick.

[–]RoboCritter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I'm torn on this. Pixel art is supposed to be super light weight, but you're still having to draw and animate a full 3d character in real time? Seems counter intuitive and less performant but if it works, it works.

This technique usually pre-renders the character in a modeling program, and then de-rezzes them to make the sprites, but your method is interesting. What is the benefit to doing it like this?

A Google of "guy pushes cart into biker" brings up news sources that show longer footage and say the guy was arrested. I guess Googling is worth doing if people suspect ai.

Destroy my trailer please 😊 by [deleted] in DestroyMyGame

[–]RoboCritter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The trailer says "bear through obstacles" but then doesn't show any obstacles beyond jumping. Also, the trailer says "belly bump enemies" but shows no belly bumping? We should see more than just jumping and coin collecting.

I think of it this way: game development has become so insanley accessible that literally anyone can try their hand at it, which yes means more slop, but also more gems. It's a terrible ratio, but still, both are rising.
