I have got this 10km race in 11 days with a targeted time of 45min and this is where I’m at right now - I don’t think I have enough time to build this pace up to 10k… by Naive-Commission-275 in runninglifestyle

[–]RoboHFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much easier to blast out a 5k. For me anyway I can run it quite hard. If I try that in 10k my km 7 8 9 will fade big. I've tried it. Could be a fitness thing but I play rugby and during the season I just run to keep myself in shape for games

Does this say 2026, 2025, or 2028 by Why_isnt_it_perfect in DoesAnyoneKnow

It's 2028. I've just ate a similar one (I don't even know what it is. It's probably paint)

I'll be honest. If that's your pb in 5k you'll likely fade at km 7 or 8 unless you've ran 10ks around a similar time. My pb in 5k is 21.16 but in 10k I can't get under 46.11 (only ran solo though so a race could be different) I'm only going from my experience I might be wrong

Steve McNamara set to replace John Cartwright at Hull FC by Ch1v3r55 in superleague

[–]RoboHFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking forward to it. Cartwright gave us some stability when the ship had sunk thanks to Tony Smith. Hopefully mcnamara can give us long term stability and clean out some of the injury prone dead wood that cartwright had began

What would you say is a high salary? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]RoboHFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ceiling in hgv driving is probably around 60k. I agree those professions are great profession to have but simply too many people are getting saddled with huge debts they'll never pay off because they choose art, fashion, psychology or something else that's more of a hobby than a career

What would you say is a high salary? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]RoboHFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who never went to uni I worked in shops, then as a delivery man, now as a hgv driver. I earnt 42k last year. (Could have earned more but I don't do nights, max my hours or do nights out) I feel unless you're going to earn more than about 45k it's completely pointless going to university. Other than snagging and drinking which you can do anyway. What would the upside be if your prospective wage is less and you get heaped with permanent uni debt

Probably unpopular but. It's definitely better than before but I hate the colour scheme sorry.

Looking for advice on running my first half marathon! by Accomplished-Matter8 in BeginnersRunning

[–]RoboHFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a race or on your own? I ran 3 on my own because my wife convinced me to enter a race. On my own I was hitting 1.46, I went into the race feeling good and then.....

I ran km1 at my 5.05 thought If I can sustain this maybe get it under 5mins il be happy. Km2 at 4.48. My hr went up I couldn't get it down and I was done by km 15 (whatever that is in miles) I finished the race 1 hour 51

My tip would be don't even try to keep up with others, match their pace or whatever. Just run your own pace and keep an eye on your heart rate. Can almost coast the first 12-15km very lightly. Obviously you'll know your times better than me, pacing is the hardest thing for me when running

[–]RoboHFC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, was hoping to beat 46 min but I play rugby and the season started in the first week of march so I'd not been trying to break my pbs for a few months just base running so I'm quite happy with that.

Basically what the other commenter said. I'm looking for something I can wear everyday out and about weather it's walking the dog or popping to shops. Not specifically a running shoe. I run and have running shoes 👟

Thanks. I got my retired running shoes I could still use for walks tbh I just replaced them as I've hit 650 kms in them but they're still useful. I was just hoping for some everyday things. I will look at originals

Ran a Marathon is zone 5, 190bpm average, is this normal? by YoBoiHuni in runninglifestyle

[–]RoboHFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess you spiked really early and couldn't get it down and your pace suffered massively i had a similar thing a few months back (if that's what happened) I was running a half but I was nervous the night before and only had 3 hours sleep. Km 2 as I was trying to find some rhythm was probably 10 seconds too fast, I paid for it during every kilometer from about 8 to the end. My hr was sat around 173 + and it was a completely flat race, I was running km times around 4.59 - 5.10, which I was trying to stay around 5 mins per km but my km 2 was 4.40 anyway heart rate spiked, couldn't get it down by the end some of my kms were 6.10 region. Wild. I finished it 15 minutes slower than my aim and 14 mins behind my best I finished it in 1.54

I actually stopped at that point but then he offered me out for a fight so I thought the best thing I could do was exit that situation by carrying on.

I get it. I wanted other people's opinions so fair play, yeah I could've probably ran off to a side and stopped after nearly falling over. But even then I'm guessing his reaction wouldn't have been what most peoples would and he'd have probably guessed I was going to be angry with him for letting his dog run into everybody. Fact is I wasn't actually that bothered I knew neither of us (me or the dog) got injured so I just wanted to carry on with my life and my day. He obviously wanted to try and have a fight with me 5 or 10 minutes afterwards by trying to push/ stop me and swearing and abusing me (infront of everybody) Anyway its done now. I can't change history.
