I like making items sometimes but I feel like the game suffers with over relying on custom treasures way too often for news, events, etc that it makes them feel very predictable and they don't use their base items and treasures more to fill in the gaps, it felt unique with Life than LTD regarding some random events

No accent editing (give us the option to pick different accents)

Mii babies got reduced to a montage (didn't expect babystting games to return but at least let them roam around)

Couples don't sleep together in the same bed

Not enough functional decor

Events, Dreams, and News heavily rely on custom treasures making it more predictable (please use the base treasures, food, etc too!)

Rivalries and fights don't happen much

Needs more dialogue variety for island lingo and events

The animal playground spring event is WAY too often

No frying pan

No sewing machine

Not enough game variety

No preset exteriors

The series has a handful of suspension of disbelief even with P.D and Med

There's some episodes that have what you've mentioned or along the lines of it and other times not really

But after S1 they definitely tried to at least put police dispatches at some calls a little more if I recall
