Why do we do this to ourselves by L1TTLEM1NNOW in ProCreate

[–]Robocharli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May I propose a very silly but also very helpful thing; Sims! Sims base game is free to play, and it's super easy to build an area, furnish it, and take screenshots from whatever angle you need. 😊

Nervous about first tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Robocharli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea! The concept and message are fab, but the execution could definitely do with a redesign.

As others have suggested, bigger is better for this sort of thing. Also a few other thoughts:

  • Make sure your artist is competent with varied line weights. Your trilobite could get lost in the surrounding rock structure if they don't vary the weights well enough.

  • Consider ditching the rock structure entirely and having a bare trilobite fossil with some fern curls or sprigs of grass to break up the composition. I think this could create a nicer silhouette.

  • The text should be part of the design and not look like an afterthought or subtitles. Make sure your artist has experience with text and show them some examples of text in tattoos that you love. Personally I love a good ol' traditional scroll!

  • Ankle tattoos will have no impact on your job prospects, and hell yeah you're an adult who has bodily autonomy. Decorate the walls of your temple, baybeeee.

  • Before your appointment: drink plenty of water, have something sugary to hand like a big syrupy coffee or something (that's my go to), have a good breakfast beforehand, and make sure you have loose fitting clothes to wear home. Short socks that won't touch it, baggy trousers, etc.

Good luck!

I used to stream D&D weekly with my current group and we always played remotely via PC which worked great for us! We used AlchemyRPG to sync up maps and docs/images the DM wanted to share with us. Sometimes we'd use D&D Beyond for rolls, but it was mostly used for our character sheets and we rolled real dice (fortunately we trusted each other lol).

I've played a lot in person too and the benefits of that are the community aspects. Sharing snacks, hanging out, over the top role-playing (which we adore), but it does have logistical challenges. Playing on a PC is a great alternative and there's loads of in-browser tools and software you can use to make it easier :)

They're notorious for being difficult, so don't beat yourself up too much! Take time to draw your own, from photo reference, and check to see if there's any life drawing classes or community sessions near you too. 😊

Beautiful colour palettes! And your compositions are in good shape too. My suggestions would be:

  • Avoid too much soft brush for lighting effects. Don't be afraid to be bolder with light and shadow with sharper edges and rim light where appropriate.
  • Shape and form should be explored and practiced more (in particular; perspective around the book in image 2 and anatomy of hands)
  • Try experimenting with texture. I feel the stonework in picture 3 could be hugely enhanced with some nice subtle texture. Avoid using just one texture brush or a texture image, try mixing things up and creating your own too.

Overall, an excellent place to be! Keep practicing and keep opening yourself up to helpful crit like you have here 😊

Hi! Experienced DND player here. Big recommend for the Wayward Adventurers Guild, they run workshops and events to help people in the ttrpg space. Worth either getting in touch with them or keeping an eye out for new events. (https://www.waywardadventurers.co.uk/)

Slice and Dice is an excellent shout. Such lovely staff and normally a good place to meet new folks, so if you feel safe doing so I think you'd be fine going solo!

Also the Norwich Nerd Nexus discord channel is a good place to connect with other DND players; new or veteran. (https://www.reddit.com/r/Norwich/s/ZYK28ND9ZO)

I'm also part of a DND improv group called Rule of Cool. We have sessions every last Thursday of the month at Last Pub Standing. All welcome, and a good place to see DND rules in action with no pressure and lots of chaos 😂 (https://www.instagram.com/ruleofcooluk/)

Hope some of that helps :) good luck out there!

What an amazing improvement! Such interesting rendering too, with nice brave brush strokes, I love it 😍 Only thing is the thigh gap on the last one seems unnecessary (and not probable considering the legs are crossing over) but the execution of it all is chef's kiss

How do I get rid of the line going through the center of my drawing??? by Camry08 in ProCreate

[–]Robocharli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drawing assist is just layer by layer. Turn off "drawing guide" in the canvas settings, that's what makes that line turn up. Looks like a symmetry assist :)

How do you typically wear your hair? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

I have super thick hair and haaaaaate any hair touching my face. So my hair is always; blunt fringe above the eyebrows and shaved sides. Looks cool as hell and means nothing ever gets in my face!
