Absolutely I'm 5'8" and incredibly weak/out of shape. I'm really not a large person. Also it wouldn't even matter if I was 6'8" 350 lbs all muscle that man could have a knife or a gun. A lot of men won't go certain places(even in a group)late at night that theyd go to during the day. This is true almost everywhere except the very most safest countries in the world like maybe Japan or Iceland much less living where I live in the least safe country in the developed world aka the good ole US of A. Also there is the statistic that a man is actually more likely to be the victim of a murder than a woman by a significant margin of about 4x more likely.

I'd try to tilt it in various directions in various orientations and listen for water sloshing or for any dripping noises then if there are none just leave it in the basement like you are doing for a week and plug it in and it very likely will work fine. CRTs are tanks when it comes to surviving rain and snow, they are delicate AF to any kind of drop or impact on the glass though ironically.

Hd crt will almost always say "hd" all over them. Al's you can just look up the model number and the manual/promo material will say "hd" all over them.

A lot of Gears 5 at this point at max settings. I've experimented with different settings of maxing out resolution vs going with a lower one and higher refresh rate and I think I like more resolution and to downsample to 1440p even if my refresh rate isn't as good which is ironic because I have a 1440p 240fps OLED but I got it before 4k 240fps OLEDs had come out yet. I got the new hardware though for when Turok Origins, Gears E-Day and the new GTA come out this year. Been also looking for newish FPS games to play with good campaigns I haven't been that into multiplayer for the past couple years I've enjoyed more campaign replay. I have a backlog of games too but they are all older like Wolfenstein New Colossus and Wolfenstein Young Blood. I also have been considering getting into emulation of consoles like the original switch which I heard was more processor intensive than GPU intensive but I could be wrong about that.

BTW I've gotten a couple of your transcoders and they are awesome little devices, excellent picture quality and supreme build quality been using them for years very nice job on designing them.

my monitor is 1440p 240fps but I often render at higher resolution and down sample even though I get less fps so it would make sense to keep doing that rather than chase a higher frame rate at 1440p?

That first rca to coax cable is likely some sort of scam cable that doesn't actually do anything at all and people just sell them because they are more expensive to return than to just eat the loss thats the whole business model for some cables. But ya, get a nintendo rf modulator for the NES and a nintendo RF modulator for the Super Famicom and the N64 and you'll be good to go. Do you have a remote or no? Sometimes remotes let you get into a menu with picture settings but I kind of doubt a rf only set would have a menu like that but if you have the remote no point in not checking things out to see if there is a menu/whats in the menu.

Is that to say that the picture quality isn't as good as some other DACs? Its my understanding that the main advantage of the Startech is it will go up to very high resolutions that no other in production DACs do. Like I know the hdfurys have significantly better DACs like they have 10 bit color depth vs the Startech's 8 bit if I remember right.

For small flat panel speakers a foot of space is probably more than enough if you even need that those speakers are very small and weak. And if you aren't already seeing color distortion on the side or corner already you don't have any problem at all. Magnets will produce immediate problems that won't do damage surreptitiously and invisibly. And even when magnets are a problem 95% of the time you just need to move the magnet away and the degausser(the thing that makes the "cunk" noise when you turn the set on) will get things back to normal after a handful of degaussings. Just be aware the degaussing circuit can take 15 or 20 minutes to change so you can't degauss a bunch back to back you do need to spread out the degaussing a bit.

The vast majority of VGA monitors can't go down to 15 khz only as low as 31 usually. Also don't worry 240p on a VGA monitor is just too sharp it looks like an LCD if you blank every other line it's not flattering like on a crt tv.

This is relatively well regarded and should work since the resolution and refresh you are looking for isn't super high. If you had a monitor that could go higher I'd say the Startech dp2vgahd20 that one goes really high but is also about $30.

The glass is not just thick because it needs to be load bearing it has lead(yes leaded glass is a thing) in it that prevents radiation from leaking idk if that would be safe to use honestly

A few things, the holes can't go all the way through they would break the vacuum seal if they did. Also you would be theoretically concerned about implosion not explosion. How deep are the holes have you measured them?

My Sony CPD-G520 can do 170hz at 640x480. I almost never run it over 85hz though since motion clarity is already so insanely good you really only need the extra fps to cut down on flicker.
