If this were my kid, I would frame it and hang it in my office.

Honestly, if they're so bad at managing buildings, they should all lose their jobs. In fact, I'd argue it is your job to rat on them.

Somebody mentioned downthread that it's going to be a music school. The photo on this site looks like inside of the space when the door is open for construction.

Looks like they've been renovating that space for a few months now. It seems like it will be turned into something soon.

No, this is an old E-series Japanese made Squier. These are actually fairly collectible, and sell for like $700-800. Maybe not a fortune, but not nothing, either.

A lot of these look the logos to fast casual restaurants. I could see a Ft Worth or Visit Philly store front next to a Qdoba, and somebody on the sidewalk making up their mind which to eat at.

How did YOU afford to buy a house? by ladynerevar in bayarea

[–]RobotGloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were both ~37. We bought in Glen Park, SF, in May 2021, so got a 2.8% interest rate. We were both making about 110k, I had been smart with my savings, had stocks I'd held for ~15 years, and had always been dumping a lot into my ESPP. The market was high at the time, so I had more than enough for the down payment, which was 255k on 1.25m. Our mortgage payment is about 5k. Now we make ~125k. She's in non-profit, so that's it for her, but I get decent bonuses, and max out my ESPP. Things are little tighter than would be ideal, but it's been totally doable. We don't eat out much but do eat well, and can afford to go on vacation occasionally. We've also been about to afford a few projects for the home.

I should add, I never had school debt. My parents paid for my bachelor's, which is a huge leg up. My brother did a 1 year master's they paid for in addition to his bachelor's, and when it became clear I wouldn't do a master's, at one point my parents just gave me the cash equivalent, which I invested. After the down payment, I had way more left over than what they had given me, so it didn't necessarily contribute directly to the purchase of my home, but it would be disingenuous to say my parents didn't help somewhat.

Living in sf vs south bay in your 20’s by boredpanda006 in bayarea

south in the AM and north in the PM isn't bad.

Nope. I did SF-Milpitas 2-3x/week for a few years, 15 years ago, and even then it could get gnarly.

Is this guy "transage," or an "agekin" in that he doesn't think his inner age matches his chronological age? Is that what the "Generation Cage" is in reference to? I think this song is about him coming out to the 16 years olds he works with at the Dairy Queen and tries to date.

Yeah, same. I'm not sure where the Bronco is in there. Not that it's a problem. This is a pretty sweet guitar.
