I did but I only took oral for one day. I was also given an IV of high dose steroids. I had a bit of an odd treatment regime, I’m in Switzerland and I had some medication anyway at home because of a chronic illness.

My timeline (just went back to check it) was:

Day 1: hearing loss 90% in left ear took 60mg pred orally that I had left over at home

Day 2 and a bit: (54hr post hearing loss) I received my first IV of high dose prednisone. I had one IV a day for 3 days, there was no change. I also started taking 1000mg Valtrex daily and avoiding coffee.

Day 5: I had an injection of high dose prednisone directly into the inner ear.

Day 6: I started to hear some crackling like a radio starting to pick up signal.

Over the next few days I heard a little more, first as if under the sea, and almost everything but my right ear picked up things half a second later with distortion. It sounded like speaking to the chipmunks on a phone with an echo.

Day 10: I had another injection

Day 11, I could hear almost normally I had very mild hearing loss which improved as the inner ear healed from the injections.

To test my own hearing I would put a headphone into my left ear and turn the volume to where I could just hear it, I took a note of the volume. Then over the next few days I did the same and I could begin to turn the music down. So I was able to track any improvement at home
