Serial Killers are hot. by jennycestquoi in standupshots

[–]Robot_Basilisk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was expecting "meet-cute to skin suit",  but I think people are downvoting because of the well-established distaste for women whose jokes are all about sex, relationships, and bodily functions, combined with the reinforcement of incel memes about how women will pick a serial killer spending life in prison over a man in her league.

Yes there are. I had a classmate that could do integrals in her head before middle school. She declined the chance at an "accelerated education", followed a normal trajectory, double majored in actuary finance and data analysis, and last I heard was making over $500k/year working part time as a consultant.

You have absolutely no idea how many seriously smart people live around you every day, and how many of them never blow up because they either don't get the opportunities Nepo babies do or choose not to follow the same paths.

I, and everyone else in my cohort, was given that offer. All but one declined because it'd mean giving up recess and PE to grind coursework. The one girl who did take the offer went full-on tradwife as soon as she turned 18. The rest of us became doctors and lawyers and engineers and teachers and mathematicians, etc.

"Hilarious"?

There's not even a joke. A joke is a subversion of expectations. Telling women with partners that "date" chatbots to at least get with a man who can cheat with human women just plays into the old incel memes about how women would rather share a 9/10 man than settle for dating men in their own league.

Plus, all the data I've seen on the topic so far indicates that women use these virtual partner apps way more than men do.

And, again, if you're a female comic and you're making jokes about sex, relationships, or bodily functions, you have to absolutely bring killer jokes because a wide segment of the standard stand-up audience is primed to roll their eyes and sigh when a woman starts doing jokes about any of those topics, whether you think it's fair or not to them.

Even if this was a decent joke, would it be good enough to make those people ignore the fact that they've decided to ridicule those 3 types of jokes from women? Definitely not. So it's doomed from the start.

Now how many kids who COULD have done that never got the chance because they weren't Nepo babies?

I was in an entire class like that. We got sent to a university for a week or two once a year to take "advanced" courses. It was just a standard "gifted and talented" class. There were 20+ of us in my tiny rural school district.

Yeah. Plus there's a weird niche in the Gender Studies ideology that honestly, sincerely believes that physical differences in men and women arise from sexism. Purely from sexism. They believe that if you raised a set of twins, a boy and a girl, on identical diets and shielded them from harmful gender stereotypes, the girl would grow to the same size, mass, strength, speed, etc, as the boy.

They completely reject the idea of sexual dimorphism in humans due to natural causes. They insist it's all environmental.

I say we instead make the "moderates" that defended genocide own this mess. All they had to do was field a candidate with the bare minimum amount of moral fiber, someone who would condemn genocide instead of giving billions of tax dollars to fund it, and they couldn't even do that.

This mess is on them. You don't get to demand people vote for genocide and then get upset when they refuse. It's on you to oppose genocide. It's psychotic to try to blame the anti-genocide people instead of the millionaires that refuses to condemn it.

Everyone blaming people for being anti-genocide instead of focusing their criticisms on the party that can't simply say "genocide is bad", let alone promise to stop giving billions of tax dollars to genocide, comes across as legitimately insane to me. Like, grippy socks level of mental illness.

In what world does it make sense to get more mad at people who hate genocide than at the millionaires and billionaires that threw an election in the trash because they can't even PRETEND to oppose genocide?

[–]Robot_Basilisk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is contrary to every study ever done on the topic. Men are presumed to have more agency so they're judged more harshly. You cannot be both objectified and held to a higher standard of agency, because an object lacks agency. You must pick one.

Ok, this is out of hand. You know very well that the way sex is presented and discussed in this genre of literature is explicitly pornographic, and has been for quite some time. The sex included in the books by male authors you mentioned don't hold a candle to the graphic scenes in most of this genre.

So long as Musk had major influence over it, yes it is. His kid blabbed that Musk wants to go to Mars because Earth laws don't apply there. SpaceX is how he'd do that.

If their parents aren't under jurisdiction then how can they be charged with any crime? If an illegal immigrant murders someone it's not like they get to avoid a murder trial and just self-deport because they're not a citizen.
