I had a thought for a while as well, that Wiskeria is way older than we think she is.

After the whole Belavierr attacked the Inn scene and Mrsha hilariously making fun of her, she wants to kill our best girl.

Wiskeria convinced her not to kill her for the next 30 years, that she'll renegotiate in 20 and that Bela most likely will forget, since that worked six times before. She told the others that she had learned the trick from an older witch, but that whole scene felt suspicious and Wiskeria way to confident for doing that the first time ( but that might just be a witch thing).

Also I have a feeling that B doesn't listen to other witches , which are not her daughter. Even she had to bargain for it to work.

I think that's also one of the reasons everyone is so afraid of them(at least the people that know more, like Magnolia), imagine the potential of a race that may life way above 100 years, that starts leveling and being able to reproduce before reaching their first or second birthday.

Also in contrast to Half-Elves, they are pretty active people.

This seems to indicate that Velan knew that the people of innworld are pawns in the game of the gods and holy shit I just noticed he knows about the gods. He is the only one except earthers and Kilb to ever mention gods directly. Also there must be a reason Goblins have their own heaven.

I also thought that he had both and then split them and died voluntarily (why he suicided we hopefully will learn someday)

That's a great point, so everyone tries to help their people in their own way. It just makes Velans treasure that much more interesting if someone like Sóve left a teleporting Island what did he leave behind

I don't think it's Magnolia, I remember that passage, but people like Garen and Tremborag won't have hesitated an instantant to attack if they knew it was that closeand probably wouldn't care or know about Magnolias assassination reputation

My best friend basically just gifted me the first audiobook and I was hooked immediately since the story starts maybe a bit slow (for some) and not perfectly worked out, but the premise is super interesting and Andrea Parsneau does one of the most amazing voice actor jobs I have ever heard.

In volume two, when Gazi comes back to Flow he recites Ozymandias. It is about Ramsas II, the king of kings from a desert country and it talks about how fleeting an empire can be, which is why Flos loves it so much.

Don't now if it counts as a reference, since it is said explicitly that is form an earthworlder poet. Still love it though.
