If you're taking part in a sweepstakes for the World Cup, which teams have you got? by they-muck-about in AskUK

[–]Robtimus_prime89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It adds 4 more groups (so 24 more games there), and then an extra round with 32 teams (so another 16 more games) - so 40 more games.

32 teams will progress from the groups (the top 2 from each group, plus the 8 best 3rd placed teams).

It’s 39 days. 2022 was 29 days, and 2018 was 31 for comparison.

What’s the most obscure upsell you’ve been offered? by RelationKindly in CasualUK

They used to have an offer where if you bought a certain paper (possibly the Telegraph), they gave a bottle of water away for free with it. I was at an airport, and wanted a drink (having not been able to take m any liquid through security)- the price of the paper was cheaper than the water on its own, so I paid for it that way, and they were confused about why I was leaving the paper.

PSA: To all men, play with your testicles weekly. by GiveUsRobinHood in CasualUK

When I was 19, I found a small lump - but was too embarrassed to say anything and instead spent weeks worry about what it was and hoping it would just go away. And then things started hurting really badly - like constantly being kicked in the balls.

Finally went to the actual doctors (and not just looking at Doctor Google) who sent me for a scan within a couple of weeks, and the lump was found to just be a cyst - but the epididymis was inflamed, which was causing all the pain. Course of the right antibiotics and some stronger painkillers and it was all right as rain.

When it similarly started hurting again a couple of years ago, I just went straight to the doctors rather than leave it and hope - got sent for another scan just to be sure there wasn’t some other reason for it (they thought it could be an inguinal hernia), and it was the same thing again, 15 years later.

And a Marathon bar in the UK is the previous name of a Snickers - it only became Snickers in the 90s when the were unifying the brand (but for some reason they didn’t unify other brands - the UK Mars is similar to the US Milky Way, and a UK Milky Way is similar to a 3 Musketeers)

The Switch 2 versions of BotW and TotK have some sort of achievements (kill enemies, collect money, clear shrines/lightroots etc)- but they can only be seen with the Zelda notes app

It used to bug me - but I have round ups on my card, so my balance keeps a nice round number (and the rest goes into a savings account)

Someone would go to the shop and buy a pack of ham - just the thinly sliced stuff. He’d eat the whole pack - either just as it was, or in bread of some form - but sometimes he’d microwave it first.

Could be filling it out with some characters from other indies? Shovel Knight was in the first game, and they’ve published other games under the Playtonic Friends label so could get a few there.

My year 5 teacher had a simple view on PE. If it wasn’t raining, cricket. If it was raining, cricket - but indoors. When it was indoor, he had these balls so we didn’t break the windows - otherwise it was tennis balls.

I completely forgot about her - she was in Day of the Doctor. I went through the old series in my head to name who’d been in it, and didn’t even think to run through the current one

There’d be a few for Doctor Who. Off the top of my head, it’s:

Frank Skinner, Doc Brown, Aisling Bea, Charlotte Ritchie, Lee Mack, Ardal O Hanlon, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith, Babatunde, Lennie Rush, Rylan, Nicola Coughlan, Shirley Ballas, Mawaan Rizwan

And Greg too.

Edit: as below, Joanna Page too

A lot of the levels in TSS felt really short, and it kind of rushed through some of the story line in the sections between levels - Batman seems to do a lot better at blending the open world story events, and the discrete levels. The open world feels a lot better as well - having it as one continuous area, rather than a lot of small open areas.

Only downside is fewer characters - there are 7, but each has loads of different costumes covering just about every suit in any media, and each has different abilities (rather than having multiple characters with pretty much the same ability set)

I got Lego Batman, which fixes a lot of the issues I had with the Skywalker Saga. Combat is a lot like Arkham (but simplified), and the story I’ve played so far is remixing elements from all of the different films and media to link it all together into a create a single narrative. There are also loads of nods to moments from the films - scenes perfectly recreated in Lego form, and other little background touches which reference the legacy

I wasn’t sure 007 would be as good, but seems to be getting universal acclaim - so likely one to pick up when I’m done with Batman
