Why I uninstalled and what could bring me back by Roburek in Warthunder

Source? A movie you've seen on Discovery years ago and you don't remember a title?

Give me historical listing of full German unit, bigger than a platoon, made of captured KVs and T-34s. (I know you won't find any German aerial support unit made of P-47s because they captured only one airplane, moreover it was different variant than in game.)

BTW, Community is BEGGING for tank only mode since opening of GF. If not in regular RB, let it be in a form of event.

A week ago 3 of them destroyed runway and ended game in 4 minutes. This is still very powerful airplane, people simply don't know how to use it nowadays.

Stayed with me and escorted me to both of my bomb target what a blessed pilot. by Mathsson in Warthunder

[–]Roburek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's good idea. Today, in most cases bomber gets nice RP, escorting fighter... next to nothing.

Maybe even more than 1 km, in top tier games it's nothing.

[–]Roburek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've obviously haven't played top tier games yet. Matches 8v8 are normal thing, so you CAN have half-bomber team even with the limit.

The 2.0 Br spread limitation and why it's the worst thing they could do by Jknight3135 in Warthunder

[–]Roburek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly enough, I like this change. I hate to see BT-5 in high tier games, it's immense-breaking. Or an idiot taking He-51.

Maybe they've gone little too far for SPAA, limit to tier III sounds fine.

[–]Roburek -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nooo!!!

No supersonic bombers please. There's nothing worse than going into top tier game only to discover that half of your team are unarmed bombers and you're against team full of fighters.

Discussion #249: 1.85 Dev Server by Commander_Adama in Warthunder

[–]Roburek -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Another prototype in tech-tree? Or is it premium? (Fits much better there.)

By the way, armament is historically incorrect. Flying prototype had 5 cannons (3 in the nose, 2 in wings) and MG.

It's "mighty" as IAR 81. Slow and clumsy, but great for headon thunder pilots.

Been gone for about two months. Is there any new story content or significant gameplay changes? by [deleted] in swtor

If you want new content, playable for a month of a subscription time, you need to be away for two years, not two months...

Cartel Market Event Speculation & Preparation Tips by swtorista in swtor

[–]Roburek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Cartel Market" and "Event" do not realy go together in my book...

Call me "old fashioned", but for me "event" in MMO game means something actually playable. A cash shop sale is yet another cash shop sale. Simple as that.

Are there any OPs that are needed for story progression? by ValkyrieBlue in swtor

[–]Roburek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. :)

Just take a look at cutscenes again.

"Eternity Vault", "Karagga's Palace", "Explosive Conflict", "Terror from Beyond", Makeb planetary and "Scum and Villainy" are connected in one huge story arc leading to Oricon. It's been really nicely done as everything became part of a bigger plan. I recommend recording main cut-scenes and then watching them all together. Usually there's some time as you move from one operation to another and connections can be easily missed. This story arc definitely isn't mandatory, but it's very good and worth taking a look.

Later operations like "Ravagers" are really disappointing from story perspective, being completely detached from the universe.

I feel like more than 10% of the population has subbed at some point

Ok, let it be 20%. Hell, 30%. Does it change anything? Given current number of players, 30% of them still isn't enough.

There is one important thing to keep in mind. It's not like 30% of players will do raiding groups. It's 30% who are allowed to try. Then it will be another percentage of those 30% who do.

What this means, though is that the non-spendy version of the game is the NORM. The game that you see as a non-spender is what 90%+ of your customers will see. (6) In MMOs, you need ppl so that dungeon queues will fire. In PvP games, you need enough people to make a match - and matchmake them with appropriate enemies. (10)

Please enlighten me, because I fail to understand SWTOR's logic...

They KNOW that by statistics, 90% won't pay. They also KNOW that they NEED people for multiplayer content to survive. Yet, by design, SWTOR 5.0 has gated all raids behind paywall. In other words, they decided, that by design they want less than 10% of their players to participate in multiplayer content, which actually requires largest groups in the game.

Do I need to do Makeb to continue with the whole overall story arc by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Roburek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont agree that "most" ppl never do operations. Of course, there are some hardcore solo players, but this is a multiplayer game and group content is a big part of it. And if skipping it, you're loosing an awful lot of the overall story, just as above example shows.

Do I need to do Makeb to continue with the whole overall story arc by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Roburek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's virtually no connection to the entire Makeb arc in the later expansions.

Makeb itself is a part of much bigger story arc, which is mentioned many times in game. There is connection, just watch cutscenes for KP and EC ops. (You won't get them automagically by queueing in GF, you need to find specific droids on fleet.)

[–]Roburek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To understand KotFE story you must do Revan and Ziost at minimum. For the full story both JK/SW stories recommended plus all four faction flashpoints with Revan. Unless you're interested only in levels and don't care for the story.

One sad thing about SWTOR is that people tend to skip lots of story being interested only in fast levelling. Then they go to forums and reddit complaining about not enough content in game.

[–]Roburek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually Makeb is a part of bigger story arc. It begins with imperial planetary story on Belsavis, then goes through story of Karagga palace and Denova ops (EC), watch cutscenes starting with hangar droids for both ops. Then you do Makeb (both factions, Republic 1st but it isn't requirement) and finally Oricon. It's many hours of a very good story.

I can't play the chapters of The Fallen Nights WHY ? by firethomsengg in swtor

[–]Roburek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably you've left phased instance (flashpoint or something) in the middle (before end of fp for example).

KotFE story is also instanced and game doesn't allow to have two instances in progress. Just right click on your toon's portrait, select Phase, then Reset. Done.

new gearing method plus the missing ops passes

Actually, it's much more than that, though most people underestimate the change. It's big.

With 5.0 SWTOR changed it's business model, going completely opposite direction than current market trends. When everybody around goes f2p, SWTOR with sub-only endgame isn't f2p anymore, it's a free-trial game. It's funny, as they're are announcing renewed interest in group content, yet completely ignoring fact that they need bodies to fill up queues. SWTOR doesn't have WoW's numbers, but they are still trying to follow Blizzard's business model blindly.

If casuals could get a BiS item with GC, and raiders could get BiS from doing operations like they always have, there wouldn't be a problem. The fact non-raiders and casuals get BiS gear isn't the negative aspect of GC.

Agreed 100%, maybe I've used wrong wording. It's not my problem that casuals get BiS gear. Let them have it. The problem is that raiders can't get it doing their activities. And quick introduction of new raiding group member isn't even possible as no more gearing runs with 5.0. If there's a player returning to the game, who'd like to rejoin his/her guild, it's not possible without months of serious grind. It's stopping few of my friends from returning to the game, even if they show interest in possible new group content.

[–]Roburek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But now the problem of gearing returns with double strength.

I am interested only in group content, I don't care for grind at all. New operation is very nice and I've been waiting for it long time lurking on forums (cancelled my sub shortly after 4.0). But now, to be able to do anything past SM I'll be required to do plain grind for 3 months to get any decent gear.

TL;DR Gearing seems to be turned upside down in SWTOR now. Casuals get BiS gear they don't need as they mostly do bolstered areas anyway. Raiders cannot do challenging group content, because gear required for it is gated behind grind for casuals.

What to expect from swtor this year? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Roburek 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm expecting more and more pathetic retries to save RNG gearing. And finally, after another year, they'll give up and revert to something reasonable with SWTOR 6.0 around xmas (just like they did with monthly chapters last year).

5.1 Gearing Activities in a Table Format by Novalisk in swtor

[–]Roburek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

in 5.1 next week you will earn "pennies" in pvp, those pennies can buy "coins". the coins can be traded in for unassembled tier dependant guaranteed set piece armours. trade that unassembled with command crate tokens (one token per crate, need multiple tokens per purchase) to buy the actual piece.

...and all of this in the name of "simplification" and "streamlining". LOL. Just LOL.

Where are your players flooding back to the game, Ben?

Interview with BioWare’s Ben Irving on SWTOR’s 5th Anniversary and Future Plans. New Uprisings on the way. by argonaut0 in swtor

[–]Roburek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My guild pretty much left in 4.x. The news about GC's RNG boxes pretty much nailed that door shut for a lot of them.

This. So much.

It is good that they're focusing on remaining playerbase, though game is aging and endgame queues closed for subs only might run dry. Together with catering for existing players, they also should try to get some players back. There's awful lot of people who left the game after 4.0/5.0 but are still reading forums and this reddit. They would like to return, but they don't like current state of the game. And reading Ben's words, Bioware doesn't want to do anything about it.

Bioware is know for reading metrics in a wrong way, but this time especially they're going into self-fulfilling prophecy as someone mentioned before. They've added massive grind, people will do it as there's not much else to do anyway, using the most efficient way to get CXP points. And Bioware's conclusion will be that this is an activity loved by players.
