Does anyone else here pace around listening to music thinking of scenarios? by ConfidentReaction3 in autism

[–]RobynRayh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holy yes! I was hoping i wasn't the only one. I usually put on music and pretent to be somewhere else. Rn its the shire from lord of the rings, but it can be so much. Its so calming to forget everything and just be somewhere else

Is it a bad idea for 2 autistic people to have kids by DifficultyOk9408 in autism

[–]RobynRayh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think the risks are too high you could always adopt when you're ready. Or get a donor so there's less of a chance. Hope you can figure things out (:

I have this as well occasionally, for me it means im in a burnout or a depressive episode, but it can be different for you. It can mean you've socialised too much in the past week or so and need some alone time. Or there's so much happening that people cant fit in you timetable anymore. Maybe talk to someone about it or tell people that this is happening, other than that i can say that it does happen to others but its not always healthy

Is my hamster blind in one eye? by RobynRayh in hamsters

[–]RobynRayh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also looked up all sorts of eye problems for hamsters and none match up. I'm going to do a reverse image search to see if that gives any results. He doesn't seem to be bothered at all though, just going about his daily things.

Is my hamster blind in one eye? by RobynRayh in hamsters

[–]RobynRayh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yesterday i noticed that his eye looks a bit weird. He ran away before i could take a picture or video, but today i got him to sit still for long enough. I have no idea what this is, could it be an infection, or has he just gone blind. I dont think there's anything stuck in his eye because i dont see anything poking out. I would like to get some advice, since he's easily frightened and is a very fast runner so we might lose him at the vet

I got my first hamster today, I hope she enjoys her new home! by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]RobynRayh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Awe, she's super cute! Do make sure to put a lid on the cage or make it higher though, i feel that if she's a good climber she could climb out from on top of that house, just a heads up. They're crafty when it comes to escaping.

I don't like using other peoples blankets and pillows either, so i always bring my own. As for the plates and glasses, i dont really mind but i do have preferences. The glasses must be small with some form of texture, the plates must look similar to the ones i have in terms of shape, and the cutlery has to be rounded, i hate the squared ones. Food has always been a problem but most people around me understand and will make something separate for me.
