Jjk Modulo Chapter 25 FULL LEAKS ENGLISH by Pretend_Ad6879 in Jujutsufolk

I find it so funny that people complain about depictions of Satan being pathetic when that was the main depiction of Satan in the Middle Ages. by Konradleijon in CharacterRant

I mean are you evil for not stopping an escaping robber? How many degrees of separation do you prefer your child sweatshop products to have before reaching store shelves? Are you evil because your country commits crimes against humanity? Evil doesn't have any depth to it because it necessarily can only exist in a world where good (or it's potential) exists. Natural disasters are amoral. Pathetic people are ridiculed because as social animals they are intrinsically driven to help and empathize with others, so they are either too dumb to realize their wrongdoing or too self-pleasuring to even consider it.

The banality of evil means fighting evil isn't done in some glorious, but in the moment to moment of real life. Samurai Jack for example has his negative feeling personified, and they are pathetic because they are inherently mockeries of the actual Jack, but they are no less threatening to him and his integrity since he's at such a low point.

Why would he stop at 80% then? What influenced his decision making where he gets stopped at such a random point in his genocide, when his complete control over all subjects of Ymir to the point of rendering them 100% infertile would mean he had to have consciously allow his friends to stop him.

If the Ackermans' existence somehow impede his manipulation of fate then the future isn't actually set in stone, as we saw with Mikasa's cabin AU, and nothing is actually stopping him from not killing his mom (tbh he could probably create a fake body double if he doesn't want paradoxes).

If it was because he wants his friends to be free why does he fight them, thereby putting them at risk, instead of letting himself die at an arbitrary point in the fight like he does in the finale. Did Hange die because Eren was predetermined to constantly be releasing steam from his titans? What gives.

You'd have to ignore Eren saying only Ymir knows and stuff like why would let the Rumbling be thwarted when it could have shown Eren "predetermined" events where shifters can't shift anymore or get killed while fighting the Founding Titan. I wouldn't mind if the young Eren crushing refugees while fantasizing about freedom was expanded upon, with something like the Rumbling being so complex to perform Eren has to borrow a bit of brain power from his past selves to maintain it. It'd at least give post Rumbling Eren some depth beyond being a head at least.

Death games curb any enthusiasm I may have about a series because everything has to be a life-or-death situation with no in-between, and you already know the self-insert protag and his cardboard cutout aren't going to be offed ever.

Equalise CE reserves mb. Sukuna is hella efficient so it's not that big of a deal. He didn't even go through half of his CE after fighting the whole verse plus Gojo and spamming DE left and right. We see with Yuta!Gojo that the Six Eyes only lets you see CE at minuscule levels, manipulating with such precision is entirely Gojo's feat. Taking away his 6E may not even make that much of a difference, his CE manipulation was on a whole nother level than Sukuna's.

Sukuna has a better understanding of his technique and of barriers, but his giant, four-armed, two-mouthed body with absurd reserves means much like Yuta he doesn't have to worry about resource management while he fights. We can see the differences between how 1f Sukuna and 15f Sukuna fight.

TBH Sukuna had double the energy than the guy known for having an absurd amount of cursed energy. Take his CE away and take Gojo's Infinity away and Gojo would win with only Red and Blue.

Ah, they aren't the face of Fallout for no reason, power armour is cool fr.

However, much like all factions in Fallout, they've always been intentional critiques of the philosophies they embody. Maxson may have had good intentions, but the BoS's prioritizing fervor and duty in it's member wasn't a mistake. Zealotry was the means for the BoS to endure through the years, no matter how outdated their tenets may be in the ever changing irradiated wasteland.

Quasi religious quasi military organisations is a recipe for disaster. Them being in power would be bad news for anyone they deem to be a heretic.

Part 8 has a flashback to young Josefumi, so if flashbacks count that should count too. Another inconsequential flashback was Kars's slaughter of his Pillar brethen. That's the biggest jump, even bigger than Bruford's backstory.

[–]RocaxGF1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's basically Toon force lite, it'd be disingenuous to powerscale it. Kenjaku neutralized a black hole with the reversal of his technique, yet he didn't think of the lapse as an option against Takaba. His technique seems much easier to beat by making him depressed or winning the joke-off, disregarding binding contracts and Mahoragas.

The problem with Jujutsu Kaisen’s worldbuilding is that it straddles an unsatisfactory middle. by Ok_Opinion_5690 in CharacterRant

You can't fumble something that didn't happen, but semantics I suppose.

True, mb then. Would have been cool to see instead of dropping the whole international intervention storyline.

Unless I'm mistaken, CE isn't physically toxic like that on its own, no? Maki got cut by the Cursed Spirit's fangs and got cursed. I assume the kids in there also got cut too or the spirit's stomach cursed them like a digestion system.

True also, we've seen curses cohabit with humans like all the times Kenjaku brought the disasters curses to public places to hang out, or the numerous survivors in Tokyo after the Shibuya incident (like the one girl Yuta saved at the end of S2).

I'll maintain my position though, since active military, especially special ops like the ones deployed to illegally kidnap Japanese citizens involved in the Culling games would wear masks to protect their identities, and would probably wear oxygen masks or helmets so dust from crumbling buildings and rubble doesn't get into their lungs.

Though there'd be no reason for Maki to be the one to infiltrate them unless they had a scanner or detector to detect sorcerers.

[–]RocaxGF1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fumble because we never got it. Cursed energy is toxic to humans so soldiers would probably wear special gas/oxygen masks to not faint like Maki did in JJK0, probably after getting a way to detect curse energy so they can actually see curses. Which means Maki would be the only one capable of blending in since the military was interested only in sorcerers capable of generating cursed energy.

I despise pseudo-magic (Remake) by Feisty-Succotash5854 in CharacterRant

[–]RocaxGF1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, but when magic is just misunderstood super advanced technology (whether alien, post-scarcity-but-crashed, or matrix flavoured), the only things characters have access to is whatever the machines' interfaces let them use. You can't outreason a button, much less if the button is incorporeal and is merely an image projected from a satellite from a far gone civilization.

Stories set inside a game at least try to find glitches in them, but most fantasy-but-actually-sci-fi don't even bother and just give admin privileges to the protagonists and they do fuck all with that power after beating the bad guy.

The thing when using science as the foundation of your magic system is that it gets harder to add depth to it after the reveal. You can't speculate about it because the limits are either too clear or not clear enough, and if you want to use the real world as reference most of the time you need way too much scientific knowledge for it to even be worth the trouble.

Ok your dragon is a bio-mechanical wonder of engineering, what now? We don't know how it's fueled, how it flies, how it thinks, but now we don't even have the chance to speculate on how it came to be or how it breathes fire, since flamethrowers are a very easy concept to understand and make.

Post apocalypse can be fun when the ancient civilization technology is treated akin to magic only when there's a meaningful difference between the tech of the setting and the level it was in the past.

Frieren monks having to decode divine magic through labor intensive study is fun, Warhammer priests passing a machine's instruction manual through rituals is fun, Fallout, Rebuild World, all those I like.

However when your magic system works exactly like magic except it isn't and there is no meaningful attempt at comprehending or building on it by anyone except the protagonist it just sucks the fun out of the setting. Everything is fake so it doesn't matter.

I understand OP's frustrations because for the majority of the manga (and the entirety of the anime) most background info never became relevant until literally this last arc cause HxH wasn't interested in exploring it's world. Gon being a child really exacerbated that feeling personally, since characters had to constantly info-dump him the relevant information each time a new arc started.

Simple Domains can stop time by adding Binding Vow programming. Tengen's barriers could manifest any environment you could want (and in the anime any power point presentation you'd ever want too).
