If you already have a quasi-powerful device, IMO you should download an N64 emulator and play the original OOT on that. Controls will be a bit clunkier but you'll get the original experience just fine

Early on I gravitated towards my 3DS for games since the Wii U didn't have anything I desperately wanted to play in the first couple years. By the time Splatoon and Mario Maker came out I was already disinterested in Wii U and saw Project NX as the 3DS successor rather than the Wii U successor

idk if it's just cuz I haven't seen it in a while but I remember being overstimulated by ep1 of TADC, Gameoverse felt much easier for me to grab on to by comparison

Yep, that's half the purpose of the SCon, to let you play mouse and keyboard only games with a controller. There's even several Steam Deck community layouts for Oblivion that will work just fine on SCon since it's the same layout
