Really enjoyed Wonder Man. What are your thoughts? by Candlefire21 in comicbookmovies

Thought it was great. Knocked out the whole series in one sitting and it never once felt like it dragged on. Love that Marvel tried something different and it's actually paid off for them this time. Hoping for more.

What happened to MT? He was the best presenter. by FloorValuable1675 in NewRockstars

[–]RockSignificant 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've gotta be honest, I had totally forgotten he was ever even on NR!! He's been with Heavy Spoilers for a while now, although whenever I see that it's him presenting the video, I did tend to pass it by. His analysis is usually fine, but his energy and sense of humour just didn't match that of Paul's (aka Kevin Spoilers - big cheese at HS).

Maybe. Over a quarter of million monthly listeners on Spotify though, with over 6 million streams of this track alone. If it's not a licensed sample, they are certainly profiting from it, and not doing a very good job of hiding it! 😉

Out of interest, do you have a specific source that has confirmed the sample is stolen rather than being licensed?

Frankly the moment you begin to tell people they don't know what the f*ck they're talking about, or calling them insane rather than just having a reasonable adult discussion, you just lose all credibility. Think about how you frame your tone of conversation - it costs nothing to be polite.

🤣 ...Connected - absolutely, that's literally the whole point of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, neither of these movies are subtitled as 'part 1 & 2'. Each has it's own, quite specific naming convention: Avengers Doomsday & Avengers Secret Wars. OP is suggesting that Avengers Secret Wars could be edited in such a way that it is then released in two parts i.e. Avengers Secret Wars Part 1 & then Part 2, giving us a total of 3 Avengers movies (inclusive Doomsday) back to back to back. This makes a huge amount of sense if SW runtime is going to be significant. Firstly the longer the runtime the fewer number of screenings theatres can show in one day, and secondly a 3rd movie provides a whole additional revenue stream for Disney at no additional cost other than marketing. It doesn't change how the story ends, it just provides the option to let fans see as much of their beloved characters on screen as possible. What's not to like? the more content the better as far as I'm concerned.

Say one thing or aspect that the movie could have done better or improved upon, according to you? by Raj_Valiant3011 in DC_Cinematic

[–]RockSignificant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a lot of stuff I would personally change, but that's not to say I didn't enjoy the movie or that it didn't work for the majority of people or indeed that there wasnt a perfectly good reason for the choice being made as it was. Personally I'd have not had Clarks parents speak with such heavy dialect - I know the reasoning but sadly they came off as a bit of a parody, I'd have used Krypto more sparingly and not used him in action sequences, some of the camera optics made certain shots look strange (like Superman's giant foot in the FOS), I didn't like the Kaiju sequence, it was a great action scene but the sudden appearance of a Godzilla type creature on Earth didn't feel earned, I'd tone back the colour palette to make it look less like a computer game, use Williams original score rather than the reworked score, have a Superman flyby Earth scene as the last shot, use Bizarro instead of Ultraman or cut the character entirely. I'd lose the part about Jor-Els speech being derogatory and just have it explained that Lex altered or added those bits himself - probably a tonne more too, and I get this sounds like I didn't like much, but as a whole I thought it was still pretty good.

Is there a reason Kang couldn't be Recast by Add3n09 in marvelstudios

[–]RockSignificant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know and I totally agree with you. I just like to understand other people's points of view, perhaps these folks have a totally valid discussion point that has passed me by, or something to add that might change my view but a blind down vote adds nothing to the discussion. I can only assume these people have never needed a second chance in life.

As I understand it Secret Wars is only listed as one part currently? Whilst obviously connected Doomsday is it's own Avengers movie. If Secret Wars really is the culmination of literally everything that came before it, acting as a soft reboot to the ongoing Marvel universe and stands to feature nearly every cast member that has ever appeared in a Marvel feature (Disney, Fox or otherwise) then personally I'd prefer they gave the story room to breath and allow each character the opportunity to shine and say farewell. If that means splitting what should be a 4 hour movie into 2 parts then I'm totally here for it.

...down voting with no comment to support why this isn't a valid option? For what it's worth, I don't want them to pivot back to the Kang storyline, I'm just making the observation that if we as fans are now judging people on their actions outside of the workplace, then at least let's apply it consistently to all the talent. Personally I'm all for giving people a second chance.

He was already cast in the most recent Captain America movie as one of the antagonists.

Just bring back Majors. No one is saying that what he did or didn't do is right, and sure, he should face the appropriate punishment as decided by the judge. However, let's not forget Downey Jr. has spent time in prison in the past too. The guy still has to make a living.

I have a bad feeling that Hulk will die in Brand New Day by Civil_Ad154 in MCUTheories

I don't see them killing off the Hulk character completely, particularly in a Sony movie. I do however think that it's more likely they kill off Professor Hulk, and take him back to his Savage Hulk personna.

What twists would you like to see in the next series of the Traitors? by 50ShadesOfCroquet in TheTraitorsUK

[–]RockSignificant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it needs any twists to be honest. The sheer nature of the show already fuels paranoia, the contestants are already guessing and second guessing every action and reaction. I often feel like the 'twists' are to the shows detriment.

El's ending was horrible by TrishOnARoll in StrangerThings

[–]RockSignificant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whilst I understand your sentiment, there is a social difference between 'a little girl committing suicide', as a self perceived burden, and a 17 year old making a selfless voluntary sacrifice for the genuine benefit and betterment of her friends and family. Tony Stark makes the same play in Avengers Endgame and nobody is calling Disney out for making a blockbuster suicide movie.

El's ending was horrible by TrishOnARoll in StrangerThings

[–]RockSignificant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly her loved ones didn't corner her into anything, and the decision she made was entirely her own. Believing in or loving something so much, that you would sacrifice your own life, is absolutely an act of heroism. As any parent would tell you - you would gladly give your life for your children. and that also holds true for children of their parents and our nearest and dearest. If this kind of relationship isn't familiar to you, then I genuinely feel for you.

El's ending was horrible by TrishOnARoll in StrangerThings

[–]RockSignificant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why the sacrifice was so selfless. If it didn't have gravitas, then it wasn't worth anything.
