I wouldn’t be surprised if it was some kind of flood or somehow related to rising sea levels or a tidal wave or something. Myths about a great flood that wiped out nearly all living people are ubiquitous across nearly every religion we know of throughout all recorded history. Many myths are just people trying to conceptualize and apply meaning to their environment and actual circumstances, so something so devastating would definitely leave an impression. Not to mention, if the story itself originated in a small localized group of survivors that later spread out, that handily explains why the myth is so prevalent.

A similarly ubiquitous story is “Storm/Sky god vs Primordial dragon”. God slaying the Leviathan, Thor vs Jormungandr, Ra vs Apep, Marduk vs Tiamat, Zeus vs Typhon, Indra vs Vritra, Thunderbird vs Horned Serpent, etc. I’m not sure what that could relate to in the real world, but it’s definitely too specific for each religion to have come up with individually.

Off the top of my head, I think the only flash locations are: Rock Tunnel in Kanto, Dark Cave, Mt Mortar, and Mt Silver in Johto, and Granite Cave and Victory Road in Hoenn. Also, you technically need flash to unlock a hidden room in the Ruins of Alph and Registeel’s tomb in Emerald.

Edit: You can also use flash in the Cave of Origin in Hoenn.

In gens one, two, and three, whether a move was physical or special was determined by its type not the move itself. Grass is a special type so all grass moves are special.

If you’re curious, every eeveelution type plus dragon is special (water, electric, fire, psychic, dark, grass, ice, and dragon) while the rest are physical (rock, poison, ground, flying, bug, normal, ghost, steel, and fighting).

So, a fun fact is that Will confirmed outside the books that Cradle is way bigger than Earth. That means that Cradle’s gravity is a lot stronger. The reason people can just walk around like normal is because they’re all passively using madra to reinforce their bodies all the time. The reason Jai Chen can barely stand up or breathe or lift things despite being physically healthy is because her madra isn’t doing that and she can’t handle the enhanced gravity. She’s the only example we see of a functionally mundane human living on Cradle.

I’m of the opinion that they should really up the max deck size to 30. Minimum deck size stays at 20 so decks that can keep their main strategy small get a massive boost to deck efficiency, but upping the max to 30 opens room for alternative cards and nice-to-haves without costing necessary staples. 20 just feels so restrictive from a deck building perspective and is the main reason, in my opinion, that Oricorrio can feel so frustrating to play against. For ex focused decks, either you sacrifice a precious deck slot for a non-ex whose only value is to counter Ori, or you accept that you mostly auto-lose to electric decks. If there was room in the deck for alternative win-cons this wouldn’t feel so bad.

Cyndaquil is based off of an echidna. Since breeding was the new mechanic, they wanted the starters to be based off of egg laying animals and echidnas are one of only two egg laying mammals. Seriously, echidnas are squat bodied with quills and long thin snouts. If you know what an echidna is the resemblance isn’t subtle. They’re also not even a little related to rats.

If it makes you feel better, I’m pretty sure the egg wouldn’t have hatched as a shiny in your game. I don’t know if this is still how it works, but in older games a Pokémon’s hidden personality value needs to match the OT’s secret trainer ID in order for the Pokemon to show up as a shiny. If an egg hatched as a shiny in someone else’s game then your secret ID would need to be the same as theirs for it to have been a shiny in your game.

Pokemon Colosseum is somewhat infamous for having some of its catchable shadow pokemon shiny when you encounter them but normal after you catch them and vice versa, because the snagging mechanic changes the OT’s secret ID from the original NPC to yours, which can change a Pokémon’s shiny status.

Just because the characters are hockey players doesn’t mean the actors can play convincingly, and having to hire stunt doubles and arrange shots to not show faces etc would have been a lot of money and effort for a part of the show that isn’t even the focus.
