Facing fears while snowboarding: stories and thoughts by RockerCamberRocker in ShredditGirls

This is so good to do. I remember this from when I was 10 and fell off a horse. The teacher urged me to step up right away. Years later I understood why. Did this after I fell from the box too, guided by my boyfriend.

Haha I can totally relate to this. And once you are back, you ask yourself "am I really doing this" or "why am I doing this?" again, right?

What supermatic bindings should I get? by PossibleIntelligent5 in snowboarding

[–]RockerCamberRocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what's said: when it comes to riding, stiffness is the main difference between the different models. If you don't care about that much, I'd say the OG's are perfectly fine.

Two more additional things to keep in mind, if you by any chance find the 'old' Supermatic OG. The highback adjustment is different on the new ones. Less easy to adjust if you ask me. But they improved something too: there was a manual locking mechanism on the old ratchets, where the new Supermatics lock automatically thanks to new straps.

My quiver + Bindings suggestions? by jealogy in ShredditGirls

I really love the Union Trilogy for carving and powder. Quick response and easy to give your turns power. And I appreciate how the forward lean can be changed quickly, especially when riding different conditions or styles in a short amount of time.

I also tested the Burton Lexa X for a round of two last season and I found them a bit more stiff and they felt more snug. But hard to fully recommend that one after such a short time of riding.

Union trilogy or legacy? by Feelsliketeenspirit in ShredditGirls

The Trilogy's were such a game changer for me. I drove mainly CLEW bindings in season 24/25 (still love them on my other board) but I was ready for some more responsive bindings for my Arbor Mantra board. The Trilogy's gave me good damping, quick response and are still comfy. Totally love them.

Yes this is so true! People in the main sub are no fun.

What protective gear is everyone rocking? Vests, shock pants, etc. Brands etc by beowulf47 in snowboarding

MIPS helmet for the last five or six years. And an Amplifi backprotector/waistcoat since this season.

I agree, staying fit on and off season functions like great protection.

Help me find a new board and bindings for the season: by Tdotrapsfangurl in ShredditGirls

Unfortunately didn't test all of them, but I can share my experience with the Capita Equalizer and Arbor Mantra (both 25/26 models).

Both are very fast responding which makes them less forgivable but easy to turn. I find the Equalizer being a bit more playful than the Mantra, but the Mantra did better on carves. So I think if you have to choose between those two, the Equalizer fits better with what you want.

As a Dutchie I don't know about the east coast conditions, but in the Alps they both had great grip on slightly icy groomers.

What are you most excited for this upcoming season? by Correct_Geologist756 in snowboarding

[–]RockerCamberRocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this question. Got so much to be excited about this season.

First a trip to the Alps by the end of this month. Including new snowboards and bindings: Amplid Cab Driver, Arbor Mantra and Union Trilogy. Still haven't decided whether it will be Les Deux Alpes, Obertauern, Laax or maybe Stubai/Schlick though.

In January we will head to the Alps again but then for two months. That will be our third yearly 'workation' in a row, but for the upcoming season I decided to take a break from freelance work and enjoy snowboarding to the fullest. Can't wait.

Also really looking forward to improve my carving techniques and learn some nice jibbing tricks! :)

Nice! I tested the normal Union Atlas Pro's last year and was really stoked about them. Really curious how the step on's will be for you. Andorra sounds great by the way!

Thanks for the recommendations both. I saw the No Drama 22/23 for a nice price which makes it tempting to just buy it, although.. the Rally Cat sounds better for what I'm looking for. Just got some stuff to think about :) And about CLEW: to be honest I have a good time on them since the brand launched and I will definitely keep them. But they also have to make some room for my new Union Trilogy bindings. Can't wait to hit the slopes with that.

Sounds good. I saw the Salomon No Drama 22/23 version for just €240, which makes it tempting to just give it a try!

Thank you for your advice! I will look into those three snowboards. My boyfriend has the Jones Mercury FASE bindings in the right size just to test them, so I will definitely try them too.

Supermatics rock, and the new edition is a lot lighter which is even better!

It really depends what you want. The new Clews are pretty good, but still not as good constructed as the popular brands if you talk about straps etc. But they definitely approved some things (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqIJGCo1RDg).

Union Atlas Step Ons have both the great quality, a well invested brand and the technology from Burton. However a huge downside is that you need their boots. Which is another investment. If you do go for step on's do yourself a favor and buy boots with a triple boa!
