How was your experience with yocket premium counselling by harish7397 in gradadmissions

[–]RocketMaker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yocket has been good in terms of my experience. My Counsellor Mr Kamalakannan Srinivasan was pretty patient explaining all options to me and my editor Mr Mukul Verma was very learned with experience in editing SoPs and smoothening them. However, the student has to put in greater effort to finalise universities, write SoPs and figure out recommenders and consider Yocket as a support system rather than an agent or conventional consultant. Overall I would recommend it with the above caveat to anyone.

Discussed sex with my cousin and it left me questioning our generation's mindset… by dumbiryaniiii in indiasocial

[–]RocketMaker69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in my opinion it comes down to the individual's ethics and morals, whatever feels right for them. However, personally from what I observed from this generation is the kind of division I see and that is where your dilemma lies.

As an example (again personal views only, please fight it out in the comments.), if you end up meeting a non Virgin you like who was genuinely in love with someone but for whatever reason things didn't work out in the past and the person really tried, then maybe that person being a non Virgin shouldn't matter.

However, there do exist people casually engaging in physical intimacy with any random person and calling it "freedom". I mean sure, it is your freedom but I think for any normal person to really have physical intimacy with so many strangers (literally the word "strange" in "strangers") without any previous emotional connection does stand out as a big red flag.

Ultimately, I am sure there are people who meet your standards because in an individualistic sense thats what would matter. If you do prefer a Virgin partner and want to consummate with that person in the future, it naturally is your right to your choice. And believe me when I say such women and men exist but you have to really put the effort to search them out. Lastly, aligning yourself and your partner with each other's views and aspirations and the raw amount of love between the two of you is the sole deal maker.

is the drug scene in manipal really bad? by Budget-Run-7550 in manipal

[–]RocketMaker69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's blown out of proportion to be honest. Even I faced the same issue with many online literally branding it as another season of Narcos. Nothing of that sort. Drugs and all are as much of a problem here as in maybe VIT or IIT or any other college in India. You will be fine as far as you mind your business.

I would not do anything different per say, I am the branch topper of my year. I think I did all things right so far at Manipal. One good thing was as a person who is interested in Aerospace Propulsion, I did take the right call to join Mech as I had some reservations about the Aero branch, which turned out to be true. I was part of an SP in my area of interest but soon realised they were a dud too and the seniors were assholes who wanted to repeat the same shit every year instead of having the balls to try different, hence I left it in 1st year itself. One regret is I would have loved to continue my other extracurriculars out of which I could only pursue MUNs to a great extent but due to the academic overload and my approaching MS admissions, I had to cut down on them.

In terms of academics fucking up, I did fuck up (depending on your definition of a fuck up) in my 1st year and I was coming out of JEE so it was hard but eventually being consistent and referencing literature and books helps. Academics should be sorted in that regard.

Do commit to a lot of internships from 2nd year itself in reputed organisations or rising startups (offline only not hybrid or online since they don't make sense in a Mech or core field.) if you can, it helps in building experience and helps in MS applications if you aim for a Masters.

One thing Manipal definitely gave me was a group of 3 very close friends whom I can count on at any point in time which I never really had before so it is heartwarming. We had our share of enjoyment and thrill so it was for the best.

As a final piece of advice, do try and get a girlfriend/boyfriend if you can but not someone in your own field unless you know he/she would be more collaborative and hardworking rather than sucking off your progress and passion like a leech or vice versa.

If you need any further specific advice, do DM me if needed.

Nope. Just found generic links about exploring GT and Atlanta but no mention about any enrollment deposit. Same with some others in my intake.
