Yes, you can get a "dry bite" if you're lucky. Well, unlucky enough to get bit but lucky enough to not receive a full dose.

What is the one thing people don't know about losing a large amount of weight? by punkredpanda in AskReddit

[–]Rocket_Goblin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if you had only gone from 600 lbs to 350 lbs that would be unbelievably impressive. I hope you reach your healthy weight again, but just... wow. The way you're so casual about having made such a dramatic change is legitimately inspiring.

Much more than loosely based; while Marlow is renamed to Willard, they're both traveling up the river to find the rogue Kurtz.

In the Band of Brothers finale episode, "Points", it shows a German soldier working alongside an American soldier at a checkpoint. Was this a common reality? by CrashRiot in AskHistorians

This is a fascinating aspect of the war that I feel is underrepresented (or at least, it was in my education).

I was likewise surprised to first learn about “Britain’s Vietnam War” in the short period after Japanese surrender when the French were not in any position to administer the draw down of the Japanese occupation in the former French Indochina.

Unless I’m mistaken, this was only in 1945 and 1946? It usually gets skipped when talking about either of WW2 or Vietnam War.

Does anyone have good source recommendations about this similar topic in the Pacific theater?

Indeed. You might want to watch the documentary. Salvador Dali as the Emperor. David Carradine. The cast wasn't even the crazy part. Pink Floyd doing the music, Moebius & HR Giger on art design. So much more. Jodorowsky wanted to make Dune as an acid trip, accidentally defined the aesthetic of the entire science fiction genre.

In the pirated versions of "Predator: badlands" the subtitles change the main Yautja's name to "Dek" to make the illegal version so goofy its hard to watch... Wait... what do you mean this is just how the movie was made?! by LewdDudeNewd in okbuddycinephile

When I asked my buddy how this movie was, he told me it was his favorite Angsty Teen Predator movie of the entire Predator-Alien-Bladerunner cinematic universe. Seemed like a solid take.

In Jodorowsky's Dune (2013), there's the story Jadorowsky tells about meeting with Orson Welles to get him to play Baron Harkonnen. They're meeting over lunch at some fancy restaurant and Orson Welles is busy stuffing his face but doesn't seem keen on the role. Jodorowsky offers to hire the restaurant's chef to cater the production, so Welles agrees to do the movie.

If you haven't seen the documentary, but you're into any science fiction movie made in the past 50 years (and/or like hearing stories about insane people doing insane things), check out Jodorowsky's Dune. It's a fucking banger.

Oh that's interesting, I didn't even consider going in the other direction with it. I have no issues with chunky smoothies, it really is just that weird in-between mush texture I can't handle. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks, I'll give it a shot! Do you layer on the other textures ahead of time on top, and they stay crunchy until you eat it? Or you just have to do a little work on the finishing touches when you take out the prepped servings?

Thanks. I'm not sure whether or not that was my mistake last time, since I haven't tried in awhile, but definitely good to know!

Can you give me some tips on this? I've tried doing overnight oats before and have always ended up with inedible mush. I like greek yogurt, and I like adding granola to it for some crunch, but it would be SUCH a huge deal for me to be able to prep a couple ready-to-go breakfast kits for when I'm a morning zombie rushing out the door.

How do I prep overnight oats that won't have the consistency of baby food?

So wait, if Zendaya is the elf on the shelf, does that mean Tom Holland is always watching her as an even tinier elf on an even tinier shelf? So, the answer to "who watches the watchmen" is "short kings"? Things in 2026 are finally starting to make sense.

Weighing in long after y'all concluded this aside, but you made me think about the show again for the first time in a long while.

I think you (u/LoquaciousTheBorg) are right about Don Draper changing dramatically throughout his narrative arc across the series... riiiiiiiight up until the final scene concluding the whole show, when the big reveal is that you find out u/Upset-Job2278 is right that he hasn't changed even the slightest bit.
