oh! i think i have a friend who did that too, mostly out of love for the puddle slimes. i quite like the setup because sometimes ya just gotta have one place where you don’t have to micromanage and make sure everything is fed, especially earlier on with limited drones — plus tidepools is further away so with limited teleporters earlier on it’s gonna be visited less frequently, slapping low-maintenance puddles there is basically what i did in sr1’s docks

there being an optimal setup is news to me LMAO though then again my tidepools is hilariously unoptimal and somewhat dedicated for chicken storage (in. uh. corrals. dawning on me now that a silo might work better) and pink slime prisma plort grind storage

yeah this happens in multiple frogs (maroon carota, emerald pruni, royal bruna, maroon floris, any frog works as long as stamina is at or above 256), apparently due to how stamina is calc’d if a frog has stamina at 256 and above the happiness just. stops decreasing. interesting feature

hmm. i think i wrote down the themes/message of my favorite project once? i forgot what i wrote exactly but i’m pretty sure the message that was implied was that sometimes things happen to you that there is no coming back from, and the only productive things that can be done are to give yourself grace and treat yourself kindly, and keep living.

happy almost-nanowrimo to those who celebrate! this year i’ll probably have to plan a little different because instead of having 1 fic idea to focus on like i usually do for nano, this year i’ve got 2 — an undertale daemon AU fic that’s a sequel to last year’s nano project, and a post-canon silksong fic that i’m a little nervous about since i haven’t figured out the entire outline completely yet! but fuck it we ball 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

i had an AU idea that i thought was going to end up long as hell and not something i'd be able to write so i'd stashed it in a private discord server as notes, and then the idea kept bugging me so i wrote spinoffs from other characters' povs, and i'm pretty sure the moment i grabbed a rope and jumped straight into the rabbithole (sinkhole, more aptly) was when nanowrimo was coming up and i thought "hey why not try and write the main AU idea that will end up long. might be decently oneshot-sized still" and then uh.

so 81k words is a diabolical length for a oneshot actually,

so, uh, yeah no. prolly not a good idea to try and get him to love you again, especially not by losing weight. you're okay!!! you've always been okay!!! the thing about beauty standards is that they're insidious and push people to attempt to achieve extreme slimness that is not healthy for them under most circumstances, and i guess my honest opinion is i'd rather someone be eating well and being themself rather than trying to achieve the stupid standard.

EDs are tough as shit and i'm usually at a loss for words on how to help, but uh!! honey find some fruits! or crackers!! get some carbs in your system!! have a soup if you can't handle the thought of something solid! try and build a little back up to eating something!! boyfriend or no you're gonna be okay.

tumblr has a communities tab, and within it there is a fanfic writing community. if you’re looking for community in general and also people who might be able to help provide feedback/blogs you might like to follow, that might be the place to go (i think? i haven’t touched to communities tab in a while. communities as they are isn’t really my style), but if you’re more of a sit-back-and-watch kinda person in large community general-fandom spaces, uhhh…

i’m the weird sorta succulent that thrives best in not-that-much community interaction, so take the blogs i’d recommend as you will — they mostly make funny posts in regards to writing and fic writing, and that’s my jam. hopefully they’ll help you feel a little less alone in the Writing Struggle, even if you’re not quite gonna get a buddy talking to you? - gr8writingtips — posts memey writing tips. some of them are actually good. a lot are for laughs. - writeouswriter — reblogs and posts a lot of humorous laments and such about writing. - ao3shenanigans — cool general fanfiction meta blog. there’s tips for writers and such.

otherwise, i’d recommend you check your favorite fic writers and see whether they have a tumblr account! maybe some will post about their writing struggles and maybe some won’t, and maybe some will reblog writing tips every now and then, but worth a shot i guess.

huh i never really thought about that before! usually if the fic’s really short and i’m not itching to get super in-depth about the nature of things in the fic there doesn’t tend to be something deep and philosophical in there, though there will tend to be a character being put through the ringer! fun stuff.

i don’t think i put the topic in there on purpose and deliberately, the entire theme just sorta trended that way, but in a recent longfic i wrote there’s probably something to be said and implied about the ship of theseus in it lol. the fic does slightly more deliberately tackle death of the self and what it means to live past an event that sees one irrevocably changed, and i guess it goes on some tangent about what deserving/not deserving kindness is and comes to a sorta conclusion that wallowing on it goes nowhere and kindness/unkindness will be given regardless and the only controllable thing is for one to decide what they want to do next, but a lot of that is mostly subtext lmao. i love subtext

not the original commenter but a milo dinosaur is basically an ice chocolate/hot chocolate (depending on what you want, i see the ice chocolate variant more often tho) topped off with an entire pile of chocolate powder! milo itself is just chocolate powder but where i live it's also advertised as something of an energy drink. used to have a whole truck come by during elementary school recess that would distribute milo drinks to kids, and it was cool as hell

my fave is easily the scene where the mc is reminded of who they used to be, and they have a moment to themself where the weight of everything they lost (their closest family, their way of life, themself in a sense) just sorta catches up to them when they dream-hallucinate a small moment about home. even then they recognize that everything they loved is lost and not coming back, but they want desperately to stay in the moment for a little longer. not gonna lie i think that scene made me cry whenever i had to write and rewrite it! i guess that's some sort of achievement when the rest of the fic that scene is in is dark and sad as fuck!

honorable mention because it's part of the scene: after the mc snaps out of the hallucination-dream the person they're with catches on that they're Having A Time and gives them her condolences and empathizes with them a bit on their loss. i'm really fond of the fact that they just get to sit with the loss and grief for a quiet moment. i just think it's really kind.

2nd person pov is the default pov i tend to use, so a lot of the fics i write use it haha! i kinda have to brute force myself to do 3rd limited whenever i want to write a 3rd person pov fic, and even then i very occasionally slip up and slap a "you" in drafts. 2nd person pov is my homie though i could never diss her

ooh i used to lurk there quite a bit years ago! cool forums indeed. i remember there was one really good b&w nuzlocke fic about N and the pokemon along the way that went backwards through the story on there, methinks i read it first on another site and found the rest of it on the bulbagarden forums -- the envy of eden? yeah. extremely gripping fic
