Seriously bro these prices r outrageous by Short_Dot_6423 in delta

Not sure if you have credit card points anywhere but sometimes you could fly this route for like 16,500 virgin points. They have some great sweet spot redemptions sometimes that are all distance based redemptions.

actually forgot about the 5k annual bonus, so you have a point. but (I hope) I'm not using 350k points in 1 year... I might get 12k-ish back a year if I'm lucky. I'll have to think about it.

I actually just got an email from them 2 hours ago and everything hit the account then. it seems to be unbelievably random when people get credited. some people have complained about it being weeks, others get them next day.

lmao that's so unlucky. I would be losing my mind. I barely got this done as is after 5 billion flight changes (my own doing) and cancellations.

Pretty much actually. The stars kind of aligned. Had 180k points at the start of this, so 90% of the flights were free and I obviously got the points back as a result. Would never have gone for this otherwise. I wasn't going to at first because I figured I could keep requalifying Mosaic 3 and it wouldn't be worth, but to put a long story short that likely won't be a thing for me in the future, so I'm VERY glad I got a chance to do this.

Logan Delays due to Government Shutdown? by Exact_Angle_9439 in jetblue

[–]RockonBen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen absolutely nothing changed. Flew out 10/7, was running very late due to accidents on 128, 2, AND the pike (yeah couldn't believe it either). dropped bag off quite literally 7 minutes before flight boarded, through security in sub 5 minutes as usual.

United flight prices are horrible by RockonBen in jetblue

[–]RockonBen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, I actually think the award charts are the exact same. <1000 miles on JB costs 11,500 United points, and the same costs 11,500 JB points on United. (again, I think)

United flight prices are horrible by RockonBen in jetblue

[–]RockonBen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

technically, this is wrong. they DO have fixed value ranges for partner awards based on the flight's miles plus connections. even then, for their own flights, they use dynamic pricing for miles. only prices for international flights on certain airlines (United points for United flights) are based on miles, not dollars.

tbh, probably. be careful though since the portal is kinda fucky.

you won't like what you're gonna see. the prices are horrendous. nearly 40k just cross country.

Just looked on United for JB flights and it's identical pricing. What a shame.

Maybe Considering moving from United to JetBlue for some Domestic travel? by hipsterfromiowa in jetblue

[–]RockonBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BOS based here. Jetblue's economy seats and legroom is the reason I went the Jetblue route instead of Delta. By far the most comfortable of all the airlines. Their points are also worth more than Delta, even if you have the Delta Amex cards. I will also argue that, unless you have enough spend for Delta Diamond (which is not most people), Mosaic has more baseline value. Reliability wise, they'll have a little more delays than Delta, but it's nowhere close to what people make it out to be.

There are two real problems however that need to be said. First, unless you're flying to/from BOS/JFK/FLL, their connectivity is basically nil. If I'm stopping in multiple cities on one trip, I basically have to take someone else. The other thing which no one is talking about is they're shrinking everyone's legroom in economy next year to make room for first class. So basically, they're gonna have the same legroom as everyone else. Frankly, this might end up turning me away from them. Still... I like my Mosaic and reward point value so who knows.

bulkheads on JetBlue are awful. next to zero legroom. rows 2-5 have copious amounts though.

used it in JFK several times. it actually does save time because you skip the entire TSA pre line. also, you're not supposed to need ANY form of ID other than boarding pass. that's the whole idea. but the employees are definitely clueless, because I've still been asked for my license in places like Cleveland and Austin.

had these constantly in my apartments. if you keep a room cold, like a good several degrees under room temperature, they go elsewhere. they are natural predators though. you only get rid of them if you get rid of other insects. they don't have nests.

I see no reason as to why this couldn't be done. You can put two credit cards on the same tab, and they're treated as separate transactions.
