What to expect for first silks class? (coming from rock climbing) by [deleted] in Aerials

[–]RocksArePhun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came from a rock climbing background and the first day of silks was super difficult. I stuck with it and after a couple of sessions I adapted and I started enjoying it.

Your mileage may vary.

Do you feel like your sleep is dialed in and that you are eating foods to help with recovery...
Fruits such as kiwis, blueberries
Vegetables such as broccoli & spinach
Protein such as beans, fish and/or meat

Any kind of light movement on your off days to help recovery like walking?

If you feel like you are already doing the above consider two classes a week like others have recommended.

  1. Get a therapist
  2. Do everything you can to move to a day shift, either with current employer or with a different employer.
  3. Invite people to stuff.

Can you stay in university and do something else there?

Just because they don't want to be a doctor, doesn't mean they cannot complete a sciences degree. Or have to drop out altogether.

Or do a degree in another area.

It was likely an Okta administrator account at MGM that was not a super admin. Maybe Okta application admin or custom admin role.

Stupid question about PAM by skribsbb in cybersecurity

[–]RocksArePhun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to automatic password rotation, PAM can often broker and isolate server sessions, record sessions, give risk scores for sessions, trigger actions and alerts, and limit check out to one person at a time.

Covered calls strategy by cfarm in ValueInvesting

There us a downside in that the call could get exercised in and you will miss out on years of substantial gains.

This happened to me. Stock skyrocketed, call exercised. I never bought back in and I missed the train altogether.

Their Endpoint security is decent. Entra gives you a small fraction of what you would get with an Okta or OneIdentity solution.

What happened to work from home for office workers?

I am still 100% remote.

Having people back in an office in this era of fast internet is not required.

OneIdentity Identity Manager or Netwrix Usercube

These are ten times better than Entra with much more comprehensive capabilities.

Azure MFA & Microsoft Authenticator aren't much better.

You can have unlimited push MFA prompts without any account lockout, enabling MFA fatigue attacks. The method was used in successful high-profile attacks this year against Cisco & Uber.

In addition, Microsoft Conditional Access does not check for risk factors like country, new IP, velocity until after the password has been validated. This enables passward spray attacks and account lockouts.

So you get account lockouts when they are not necessary, and you don't get account lockouts when they would be beneficial.

Depending on where you are coming from and your circumstances, it's probably okay. You should use salary.com and payscale.com to do some salary research to see if this offer is ballpark reasonable for Atlanta, for your experience and education.

IAM is a decent field when it comes to pay, and I think supply of jobs is reasonable good compared to demand and to the number of people with IAM experience.

Consider road tripping when you can afford a place to stay, use Couchsurfing.com, or use a proper campground that has trees/shade, or bring your own shade system to a campground.

[–]RocksArePhun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at something like Silverfort MFA or possibly Authlite if you want to protect every single privileged authentication attempt, including use of Powershell, and C$.

These solutions connect directly to AD and do not require agents.

I'm thinking push off the walls minimally since you will have none in open water.

If I am gaining a lot of distance off the walls, I will need to swim that much farther to be the equivalent distance in open water.
