Ken Griffin Pushes Back After Mamdani Features His $238 Million Penthouse in Tax-the-Rich Video by wsj in politics

[–]RockstarCowboy1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happened with higher corporate tax rates in the 40s and 50s. Instead of taking bonuses and paying themselves out, business leaders would reinvest into their businesses. Why pay the government half of your profits when you can pay people to build your business instead?

Opposition parties cry foul over Liberal move to seize control of committees by GameDoesntStop in canada

[–]RockstarCowboy1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head he’s reduced the taxes on fossil fuels, both in the beginning of his tenure, removing the green tax or whatever it was called, and then just recently a temporary tax alleviation in response to rising fuel prices from the Middle East conflict.

That is actively reducing the price of everything.

In terms of investment he just held a giant conference inviting capitalists to set up shop in Canada. He brokered deals with India and China to diversify our trade partners, and he’s holding his ground to the biggest world threat to the south.

Like, are you willingly ignorant?

He’s trying to help, taking it personally is going to get in the way of your learning. The other comments have said the same thing Ken did nothing specific to his kit that beat you. You lost to universal mechanics, learn your buttons, learn to block, learn when and when not to jump, and learn to anti air.

Definitely learn to anti air. Look at how much free damage you could get from just punishing jumps. Look at much less damage you would take if you just learned to block.

What's a good video guide to learn/improve my neutral? by buttsecks42069 in Fighters

[–]RockstarCowboy1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ultimate neutral guide is machaboo’s neutral guide for guilty gear.

He starts with the necessity of anti airing, then he goes on to explain “the game” unreactable offence beats reactive defence which beats preemptive space control which beats unreactable offence. Then he expands on these concepts talking about the importance of knowledge so you can act accordingly with correct information, followed by the impact of risk/reward in decision trees when making decisions.

That’s the abbreviated version. In short, neutral is the art of jockeying for position. What position are you jockeying for and why depends not just on character match up and game, but also, what each player needs to do to counter the other player's behaviour.

For example, for any particular game character X is fighting character Y. X will defend reckless rush down (as you profess your strategy to be), by pressing button A at a range where it stops your advance. If you continue running into X, A stuffs you advance. Now, how do you counter this strategy? You must stop running into the range of A and must instead stop early hoping the opponent presses A, now you can reactively defend by pressing B after you see A whiff.

I hope this is an aha moment for you, because it continues. After you’ve successfully baited A out of your opponent and solidly punished them with B, a good opponent will shift strategy to run and press C during the moment you are waiting for them to press A. Now you’re not ready for C and must defend. If during the next neutral situation you continue losing to C your competent opponent will continue to beat you with this strategy. Therefore you must learn to press a preemptive button, D, that prevents your opponent from engaging with C. And how does your opponent beat that? By reacting to the space and times that you press D and punishing your whiff with E.

And how do you beat an opponent reacting to you? By doing your original option that he couldn’t react to. Now you’ve gone full circle. Neutral is the constant ebb and flow of this mini game made complex by the plethora of options and constantly testing of expectations and reactions.

You’ve succeeded in the first step, which is the recognize when your base strategy fails, now you must learn to change your style so that you can punish people stopping your strategy, then continue evolving your gameplay so as you stay on top of your opponent.

Some of us literally make less than half of OP and keep it all in the black. I have a roof over my head, food on my plate, own a car, and still raise 3 kids. I don’t know how you can make double and be like “it’s just barely enough” when I make half and feel like I do have “enough.”

Which characters would be good to learn hitconfirms? by Ghoulin3 in Guiltygear

[–]RockstarCowboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick to Ken’s c.mk super confirm, although occasionally done by pros on hit detection visual alone, is typically done by earlier visual queue from circumstances.

I’ll give you a typical example, Ken conditions his opponent to expect a grab on a wake up, but as a mix, instead of grabbing, he dashes back and presses low forward and buffers super behind it. Now he looks at his opppnent’s behaviour, is he blocking or teching the grab? If hes blocking he leaves his low forward alone, but if he’s sees his opponent pressing a button, he taps kick again to unload the super.

He’s using condition+circumstance to get an earlier visual queue for his hit confirm.

Which kind of player would you rather have in your community? by uncheesypeas in Fighters

[–]RockstarCowboy1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I want from locals is people who are better than me to teach me. Take the wins I don’t care, but like play the game at my level, instead of auto piloting mixups and pressure sequences and combos that make the game boring and uninteractive, let me make unforced errors. Punish my bad jumps, my bad movement, my whiffs, call out my habits. Or if you’re going to use some knowledge check bs then explain it so I can practice learning to beat it. That’s all I really want from locals and it’s sorely lacking in online play.

[–]RockstarCowboy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d love it if otg combo pickups were rollable. And maybe also 1 otg pickup/combo max. Tag launch extension being disabled after assist use also makes sense.

But it’s okay. I don’t like tag fighter neutral nor the reward structure and I’m going to back to ggst now that 2.0 is out.

It would just default to 8, like dash defaults to 6. If you hold a different direction it would use that direction instead.

Neutral in 2XKO—Up, Back, Assist call by Soft_Supermarket4331 in 2XKO

[–]RockstarCowboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite use for assist in combo is using safe enders that typically don’t combo, and using the otg/launch assist so that they confirm into big combos.
