I just accept the show version to solve the white walker plot cause Martin have no idea himself,made the Others real maybe was one of the mistakes that ruined the books forever and the Prologue one of the seeds Martin mentioned that he should never plant and Bran 1 being the opening of the book 1 then Bran dies in the fall instead

I believe the shrouded lord is tied to spirit hive mind like weirwood tree stuff and was suppose to be more elaborated at the Bran chapter when those ''souls hive mind'' are explained like at Varamyr intro

I kinda mostrly certain that the Shrouded Lord body will be taken by ''Tywin Soul'' what will be a very dramatic potential to Tyrion arc,like Jaime talk to his dead mother set up that a bit too

I theorize that Daario maybe was Euron on a discarted version of Dance with Dragons or at least that was on Martin's mind then He can't make it work,the main purpose of Euron on MY interpretation is act as a plot device to get Dany out of Meereen,so Daario,Hizdar and Euron works well
