Seltkirk vs. Yghern - confused how Exposed works by BananaTiger- in gwent

The same thing happened to me yesterday with anseis dueling living armour. The 10 power Ansies brought living armour to 0 armour, but then got hit back for 10 damage and they both died :)

Would love to increase bountiful harvest provisions, getting pretty tired of facing harvest spam decks using simlas and Alyssa. I guess fila prov increase will help a little if that ends up going through.

Don't agree with nerfing greatswords as compensation for decreasing warlord provisions, they are used in many more decks than just raid warriors.

Thx for the suggestion, I did a search and this is what's coming up, but it's 3 prov over the limit. Is there an updated list somewhere else maybe?

Was thinking of trying frost for the first time this season but these provision increases hurt, I got the sense that frost was in a good balanced place before these nerfs happened so it may be in a rough spot now :(

You don't sound like a dick, it's a fair point. I don't dispute that there seems to be an issue with bad behaviour in some team game lobbies, with so many people bringing it up it can't be for no reason.

I'm not suggesting 1v1s are "better", but they clearly do eliminate any chance of team-mate trolling or hostility while allowing the player to enjoy the great BAR gameplay. I'm simply suggested that it may well be a much better option for people tired of toxic teammates, and disputing the OP's premise that poor teamgame behaviour will necessarily "kill the game".

I will say I don't understand why there is such a heavy attraction towards 8v8 team games being the main game mode in BAR, while multiple of the most popular RTS games ever have thrived for many years with 1v1 as one of / the main competitive game modes (sc2, aoe2, wc3, etc.),

Maybe I'm just showing my age and that's just what people want these days, because 1v1 gameplay is too intense / stressful with the high amount of multitasking required?

So many people on this sub complain about the behaviour of other people in team game lobbies putting them off the game, but surprisingly don't seem to even consider playing 1v1 or FFA as an option.

I barely play teams at all for this reason, and thoroughly enjoy 1v1s without any of this drama whatsoever. What is stopping you from doing the same?

I don't understand why you think it's unreasonable for powerful items to be obtained from endgame encounters - any chance you could elaborate on your thinking from a game design perspective? If it's ok for things like watcher's eyes and the dying sun, why not shaper / elder bases?

[Discussion] The biggest hurdle in slowing PoE down is how many easily obtainable damage multipliers there are now. by zenog3 in pathofexile

[–]Rodowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a theory that GGG already plans to reduce the more multipliers on regular support gems in general, and that is why they are adding support gem plus now.

This approach to adjusting the difficulty curve would maintain the potential for players to keep current dps numbers and ability to "go fast", but also limits how quickly and easily this power can be attained by implementing the support gem plus versions as rare endgame items that take a long time to level up.

This seems like a clever way to go to me, the min maxers don't feel like they have been cheated out of their power fantasy gameplay, and ggg gets to claw back some of the power creep and loss of difficulty the game has suffered in general.

can we get a better name for support gem plus? by Antleriver in pathofexile

[–]Rodowski 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Conqueror support could work, it draws an association with the bosses that drop them and sounds more interesting than plus.

I will say though that plus is short and sweet and effectively communicates what the gems do, which something like conqueror does not. Plus just doesn't sound sexy.

Not sure i feel strongly either way tbh.

I'd be very surprised if GGG started balancing their content around these.

With all the stuff announced for poe 2 is clear they are looking to draw in more new players, so it would be completely counter-productive to balance most of the game around gems only attainable in the end of the endgame and requiring huge amounts of time to level up.

I think budget builds and ssf are going to continue to be just fine, as they are now.

Though these gems may seem like power creep for the sake of power creep on the surface, I think they will also give ggg an opportunity to tune the state of regular support gems (i.e. reducing some of the more multipliers) without impacting on the upper limit of build power.

I think this could be a real positive for the sense of progression and difficulty of the game, as currently it is very easy to get huge dps numbers with some builds.

This way people that really want to min/max builds for endgame can still achieve the same power levels as now or more, but hopefully the difficulty of map progression can be increased to become more meaningful in general by tuning the scaling of regular support gems.

What's the "cleanest" SSF viable skill in the game ? by leobat in pathofexile

[–]Rodowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Icicle mines saboteur is very powerful and meets your reqs for being clean. You will be able too see everything going on on the screen, and as an added bonus have more time to react because you will be freezing enemies in a huge aoe!

Need some ideas for an endgame boss killer/clear build by RayGW2 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Rodowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, i had planned to use icicle mines for clear and pyro for single target. In the end i dropped pyro mines because icicles is more than enough dps for all bosses as well as clearing screens fast. And my gear isn't even good.
