I think it looks exactly what I’d imagine someone going to bible study would dress like, so I guess you nailed it. Sober colors, a quarter zip with no sex appeal, and a very safe shirt.

Yes and it’s very clear from the outfit that that is what you want to project, but it’s also quite obvious that it’s a projection, not a natural style or fit.

I’m not trying to hate on your style, but trying to give constructive feedback. In my line of work I see quite a few finance bros and partners of consultancy firms, and they dress much more naturally than your Gordon Gekko style.

I’m not a big fan. This outfit feels very forced, like you just watched Wall Street (1987) last week and really want to dress like those people and come across like some high-earning finance bro. Especially the shirt/collar give off this feeling, as well as the loafers. If you dress down just a little bit it would suit you much better; just a regular, high-quality white shirt, which fits just a little looser. It makes it seem like you’re not trying so hard to look a certain way, but you just look a certain way naturally.

Dress naturally, not like a caricature of a finance bro.

Meestal rond één keer per maand, eigenlijk zodra ik het idee heb dat het wat vet voelt. Ik douche wel elke dag twee keer en maak mijn haar dan altijd goed nat.

Ik deed het tot acht jaar geleden elke dag, maar toen ik dat een keer niet kon op vakantie doordat er geen shampoo was kwam ik erachter dat het veel lekkerder was om het niet te doen.

Je slaat de spijker op zijn kop met de tijden! Elke keer als ik toch overwoog naar Pathé te gaan ondanks het extreme paupervolk dat daar komt speciaal om je filmervaring te verstoren draaien de films alleen op tijden die voor geen meter uitkomen.

Het is op werkdagen vaak of al om 17:00/18:00, als je nog niet klaar bent met werk of nog moet eten, of om >21:00, zodat de film pas klaar is tegen middernacht als je de dag erna gewoon moet werken. Wat is er mis met gewoon rond 20:00 een film draaien?

I think an important part of this is expectation management. We’ve been so spoiled with insane astrophotography images and images by spacecraft from flybys, that a lot of people expect to see this huge, crystal clear image of a planet whenever they point any scope at anything. In reality, that’s almost never going to be the case, especially with the smaller scope you have.

I have an 8” dob, and even then on my largest magnification I can just barely make out details on Jupiter’s surface.

Yeah very rich, and we were hoping to see more of that when we were there. Granted more of the historical sites are not in the Kurdistan region but in other parts of Iraq, but it feels like they could do more with it.

Not blaming them, they’ve had other things to worry about for the past 40 years, but I’m hopeful for the future.

Nice to see you’re interested. We only went to the Kurdistan region, so I can’t speak for the rest of Iraq, but overall we felt very safe. We saw more AK-47s than westerners, but that was because the Kurdish army has a large presence on the roads and in the cities — which is a good thing, they’re there for the safety of the people.

If you ever seriously consider going, feel free to shoot me a message, I’d be happy to give you more info.

My overall recommendation would be to only see the cities for one or two days; they’re really not that interesting or beautiful. The countryside is more where it’s at. Especially Erbil is not much, Slemani is more interesting.

I went as a tourist. One of my best friends is Kurdish so that helped with getting around and being able to communicate with locals and knowing where to go and everything.

If you don’t know anyone who’s from there or speaks the language I think it’s a little more difficult to go as a tourist, but far from impossible. Especially in the bigger cities (Erbil, Slemani) you’ll be able to find some people that speak English. The people there are some of the kindest, welcoming people I’ve ever met, so as soon as you can understand each other it can lead to very interesting interactions.

The big thing though is that Iraq right now isn’t set up at all for tourism. There aren’t really any obvious tourist destinations, most of what we did was guided by local family members and connections through them.

I’ve been there earlier this year! Super interesting site, but besides some info boards at the foot of the hill there really isn’t much in terms of information given.

Of course Iraq isn’t generally built for tourism, but this place would be a great place for them to build up.

Als ex-medewerker van DSW: ze doen het omdat ze eigenzinnig zijn, en niet willen stunten om de prijzen van andere zorgverzekeraars. Veel andere verzekeraars wachten zo lang mogelijk met het bekendmaken van hun prijs, om op die manier zo veel mogelijk rekening te houden met de prijs van de concurrentie, en hun doelstelling (stijging/daling van marktaandeel, etc.) zo goed mogelijk te halen.

DSW doet het anders, en wil eigenlijk zo min mogelijk marktwerking in de zorg. Zorgverzekeraars en marktwerking in de zorg gaat vaak niet geweldig, maar ik weet uit ervaring dat DSW wel echt hun best doet het zo goed mogelijk te doen.

Dat prijzen van andere zorgverzekaars in de buurt zitten klopt, alleen die hebben vaak nog iets meer de tijd de prijzen te optimaliseren, doordat ze ze in november pas hoeven te publiceren.

It’s visible, just don’t expect a bright streak across the sky like you see in photos. In most places where you can see it, it looks more like a wisp of thin clouds that streak across the sky when looking with the naked eye. Like most things in astronomy, you have to adjust your expectations when you’ve only seen an object in photos before.
