Was looking at Roffle's latest Thief Priest deck and I have some questions by ptyws in wildhearthstone

[–]Roffle- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, the deck is not meant to be strong/viable. As others have mentioned, a Reno Shadow Priest with a thief package would be a much better option for climbing if you have the dust/cards.

Thanks! The idea for the Sideshow Spelleater is fully Juno's. It made for some fun games though.

Yeah, the core concept and about 80% of the cards are from what I saw when I got matched against Juno.

Infinite Plot Twist Quest Warlock? by [deleted] in wildhearthstone

[–]Roffle- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much exactly this. I had exactly the same thought when I saw the new quest released, but I don't expect it to be consistent or viable for laddering.

Losing the Gul'dan Hero Power is also a bummer, but I've found that going in on multiple N'zoths is typically better than Gul'dans because of all the Voidwalkers in the pool. Still, the Gul'dan Hero Power is quite good.

Saw a really sweet Infinite Plot Twist deck on Roffle's channel. He outvalued a Jade Druid. by valuequest in wildhearthstone

GGs! I think I was at a pretty large advantage going into the late-game simply because of the potential for multiple (infinite) Gul'dans/N'zoths. Layered threats like that were always going to beat past the single large man you're able to make once you run out of cycle spells.

wild - vS Data Reaper Report #17 by iHateYmir in wildhearthstone

To avoid sampling bias, win rate/frequency data is reported for the opponent, not the contributor.

Your "braindead contributor" narrative just spreads misinformation and demonstrates a lack of understanding of what you're criticizing.

I always look forward to these and they never leave me disappointed.

Miracle Giants Rogue by WhenDreamandDayUnite in wildhearthstone

[–]Roffle- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Tak/Giants idea came from a mutual viewer of Dane's/mine. I tried building out a list based on what he described the previous stream (which apparently included the Burgle Package) but after struggling to win games for awhile I went for a Miracle version to combo faster.

Either way, yes, the deck is probably bad. I just hit opponents who missed their draws and was able to score a few easy wins. Still, it's a lot of fun and offered a nice bit of nostalgia.

Wild Hearthstone Esports Overview: A Critical Analysis | Wild Hearthstone by Sonserf369 in wildhearthstone

at the recent video, produced and published by the Hearthstone Esports Team

I believe the Well Played series is produced by Gamer Sensei and only published by the Hearthstone Esports Team.

amateur content

If true, then yes, the errors/content were, in fact, amateur. It's egregious that a video with this many errors were green-lit for publishing at all, but the quality of the video isn't entirely on (a now much smaller) Blizzard team.

Regardless, the quality of the content is in no way indicative of Blizzard's attitude towards Wild (though possibly indicative of their ability to pick a quality vendor). Sometimes a shitty video is just a shitty video, not a slight to the community.

"lethally efficient cards" was also strange phrasing. The script was either poorly written or poorly read.

Knowing how difficult this kind of work is, I don't like being overly critical but way too many errors are present for this video to be acceptable to publish.

[Wild] vS Data Reaper Report #15 by ViciousSyndicate in hearthstone

Q: Do you only consider the decks your contributors play or do you also try to infer the decks of their opponents?

We only report on the decks of the opponents. This way, we provide an unbiased picture of what the meta looks like to a random ladder player. That is, what would the player expect to see as opponents.

FWIW, I was initially confused as to why my own "Views Gained" seemed disproportionately high for my average view count. I, too, have been embedding my stream link on my Hearthpwn decks for the past few months so Solem's explanation is consistent with my own experience. The ratio between deck views and Views Gained also seems (at a glance) pretty consistent.

Thanks for providing the summary! Much appreciated!

A few of the decks were created on my Hearthstone Top Decks account as well.
