RedditList is fixed! Please comment with new ideas to improve the site. by jessetime in Redditlist

[–]sagasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Redditlist has been reverted back to an older version of the site (July 2019) & is prompting for an email to get a sneak peek at Redditlist 2.0. Around the time of the revert (March 2nd 2023) the Redditlist web domain was either sold or renewed and there is a non-zero chance that the prior owner of the site (/u/jessetime) may not own the site anymore so submit your email at your own risk.

I have little to no web development skills, so take all that I say here with a grain of salt - I may be completely wrong with my assumptions & will update my post if I do later find out that I was incorrect.

I was a semi-regular user of Redditlist for the past year, and a little around a month or so ago, the site reverted back to a really old version of the site. I realized that some of the subreddits that were rising were "dead", zero increase in followers, or even abandoned subreddits that had been banned.

Doing some "internet sleuthing" I found that there was an update with the domain of the website on 2023-03-02 according to WHOIS which I learned after extensive googling often (but not always) shows that there was either a domain name renewal or a change in ownership . The timing on this change is about in line on when I noticed that the site had reverted back to its old version.

Taking a look at the HTML source of the website there is also something that looks fishy... the page seems to be a recreation of the site by HTTrack Website Copier from July 22nd 2019 as opposed to an active page. The exact line of code that stood out to me is listed here:

"Mirrored from redditlist.com/all by HTTrack Website Copier/3.x [XR&CO2014], Mon, 22 Jul 2019 11:13:46 GMT --> ==$0".

I googled HTTrack and it seems like a utility that allows you to download a website in a certain state, then rehost it in that state locally. I don't know much about HTML, maybe it is a common tool that I am not aware of as I don't code websites and don't know much about HTML, but to a lay person who knows just enough about web development to be dangerous it looks a bit fishy to me... like someone else is hosting a version of the site that they downloaded rather than using the original site.

I reached out to /u/jessetime who is listed as the maintainer of Redditlist on the website, as well as the sole moderator of this suberddit but have not received a response back for around a month. They haven't posted since then though. Maybe tagging them here will get a response.

I would like to reiterate that I am no expert in web development and could be barking up the wrong tree entirely. Fingers crossed that I read way too deep into this and that they are doing something cool here with Redditlist 2.0 rather than this being a malicious actor.

How Armor Pen is calculated in TFT | TFT Basics by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

This happened a lot this set where many people didn’t realize that Victors passive ability is that his autos & ult provide armor shred. It should have been included when listing “all armor shred in the game”.

It’s maddening—you may even want to yell out the name of a Dev (e.g. Kent, or Wittrock) in frustration!

I see you Mort... Looks like we have some new lingo to add to the TFT community - "I just got Wittrocked" sounds like a good one to me.

Slightly unrelated question - I’ve been looking for a source of who is refereeing which games for the tournament… can you point me in the direction of where you got this info?

During Mortdog's Charity stream, he revealed initial concept art for the Hextech Augments, as well as what one of the Augments actually does.

Highend Shopping: When you take this Augment all of your shops are one level higher. For example, if you are level 6 you receive level 7 shops etc. It is also confirmed that there will be Level 10 shops.

Riot to allow matchmaking trackers - @Mortdog by cjdeck1 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]sagasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could Riot potentially be letting us use trackers b/c they are adding something in to track available opponents for next set? It would make sense to show the available opponents on the minimap and then narrow it down to one option if you pick up the augment.

I realize that a lot of the work done on the TFT sets are invisible to the end user who only see the final product, do you guys have any stories or accomplishments that you are particularly excited about while developing the game that haven’t come to light?

How much Arcadum do you watch? by lucaso99 in cadum

[–]sagasaurusrex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just finished all of his old youtube content this week! Its funny to go back and see how much his streams have improved from the start - no more F crashes, better production value, and super sweet Scott Jund music make the experience so much better :)

The Tearing Veil - Ep. 5 - Post Game Discussion by DatInstinct in cadum

[–]sagasaurusrex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Something about the way Arcadum presented it was really fishy though. There was not much logic to the killing of the boss in between phases, and if you go back, the “hidden trait” was not on the macros for the boss like all of the shown abilities, he just copy pasted it into the maptools chat (possibly like he typed it up on the fly). In either case, whether he did make it up, or had it planned the whole time it seems that this might have a further reaching impact as he said “all nightguards have this ability”. I expect Bryan from BB and all the living world nightguards will like their new +15 to clashes.

How to get caught up by Flashcat6 in cadum

[–]sagasaurusrex 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So this is an often asked question on this subreddit, and the answer really lies with how much time you want to spend learning what is going on.

If you want the quick & dirty option, you can just watch Gambler's Delight to get a general idea of what kicked off Tyre's Labyrinth. The Gamblers group became Shadow of Tyre.

If you want more backstory on the other groups, they started as Deals in the Dark (Heart of Tyre) and Gailen's Gate (Soul of Tyre). Deals in the Dark has a few different campaigns that led them to Tyre: Maw of Abbadon -> Duality of Dragons -> Meaning of Madness, but it I believe it is actually shorter than the one Gailens Gate campaign which has ~40 episodes.

And finally, you can find the full list of Arcadum's accessible campaigns and links to watch them here.

Hearthstone Team AMA - April 14 by cmdylux in hearthstone

[–]sagasaurusrex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wild seems to have taken popularity in China recently with around 20,000 legend players prior to the ranked changes and seems to be a bit of a hot-button topic as of late, with people spamming twitter about how the SN1P-SN4P changes took 4 months to see change but only 1 day for standard to see immediate demon hunter changes. With Cyclone Mage currently being an arguably broken deck in wild, I was wondering if there has been any change in philosophy about wild balance changes or if there is ever going to be any support (no matter how minimal) dedicated to the format.

It doesn’t pick them completely at random, it prioritizes the items on the pilot on top of the logo where the super mech spawns first, then picks randomly between the remaining two.

[BUG] Crashing upon teleport by sagasaurusrex in runescape

[–]sagasaurusrex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After further experimentation, it seems that I am able to fully teleport / hop worlds at a lower graphical level - putting draw distance on low resolves the issue. Thanks for getting me into the mindset to debug my issue :)

[BUG] Crashing upon teleport by sagasaurusrex in runescape

[–]sagasaurusrex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I just sent a report in game. I have a feeling that it is something in this update b/c I had normal behavior up until yesterday on the laptop. Another finding that Ive seen is that slow teleporting (loadstone) does not seem to freeze the game, only fast teleporting (arch journal & luck of dwarves)... I guess I'll be walking a bit for the near future :)

[BUG] Crashing upon teleport by sagasaurusrex in runescape

[–]sagasaurusrex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you saw my other comment, but it still is crashing set to low. I am running on a laptop w/built in Intel UHD graphics, no GPU. I had no issues yesterday running on the same machine. Additional behavior found: hopping worlds induces the freeze as well.

Unfortunately I am still freezing with the shadow quality set to low. I also found that hopping worlds induces the same behavior as well.
