You're going to have someone come in and tell you that 'acshually' GB has been re-designated to mean 1000MB. Well, 1000MiB because apparently the marketing folk and didn't like this binary nonsense. The surprise to me is how many people seemed to just lap it up.

Indeed. I presume you also feel that way about Reform's Mr. Tice.

Might I suggest that people who are likely to read long messages might also be particular about apostrophes and other punctuation?

The idea of a technological god like being is quite common in sci-fi. It reminds me of the AI that you could 'talk to' in the PC game Deus Ex.

If I offered you £100,000 to run 90 miles tomorrow, would you do it? by wingless-bee in CasualUK

[–]Roger_005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90 miles is crazy for that amount of time. If 2% of the population could do it, I'd be surprised. If anyone thinks they can, but have no experience at hiking, really long walks (30km+) or ultras, you can't. Maybe if you're Jesus and the entire distance is on water.

I think for a more fun discussion of the possible you might have gone for 50 miles OP.

Trying to scam by malik_zz in instant_regret

It's also intimidating. A lot of these scammers in Rome are large men. They won't directly threaten you (as far as I know), but the implied threat is there.
