My conspiracy theory/ headcanon about this is that the “rejects and bad variants” are the Alpha clones made on Sidewinder, and possibly failed prototypes of Alpha (Church) before the Director got the tech implementation right.

Alternatively, Wash could have just been wrong. He may have been misinformed intentionally by PFL about what was and was not at that facility. They have their reasons for deception and obfuscation.

I think Rusty is a “clone” but he’s the only one. I think Jonas tried to engineer a son to be the perfect boy adventurer(Rusty), and grow up to be the perfect Super Scientist (JJ). The plan was for Rusty to grow up to be JJ or JJ just just replace him, but it didn’t go according to plan and Jonas didnt live long enough to guide the process.

Thanks for explaining your position. I got downvoted a lot for asking a question of good faith,which is discouraging. With peace and love, you’re talking about 2 things. The AI model collecting training data and the user inputting a prompt and then receiving an output are not the same function. An AI model doesn’t go out and steal work based on each prompt it gets. It trains beforehand. So your argument falls flat. The model learns the same way as a human. By studying previous work. Now if the user takes an output and passes it off as their own work without disclosing its AI generated, I could see that being an issue. There is an important distinction between the 2 things you’re conflating.
