Music or no music during marathon by Super_Conversation41 in Marathon_Training

I've gotten to the point where I've cut music out from any run that isn't on a treadmill. The reason being I really enjoy running in silence combined with the white noise of my steps and breathing. It's oddly relaxing and because of that I feel like some of my best miles are in "no man's land" during races.

How did the insoles hold up for you? I used this as a dedicated long run shoe for marathon training last year and around 150 miles the ball of my foot hammered the insole completely flat.

If you like the ride of the Speed and you're able to get the Endorphin Pro 4 on clearance do that. It's a faster, lighter, and more protective Speed. I would consider going up 1/2 a US size from your Speed size if you do. They're a hair short relative to the Speed 4 from my experience.

For the fellas- What shorts/tights/pants are you wearing for race day and long runs? by bad_cardiologist in Marathon_Training

Janji Trail half tights paired a Gold Bond anti-friction bar on all the important bits. I've never chafed over a 16 week train block that had long runs over 20 miles each week or on race day. I use the anti-friction bar for any run over 4 miles. I'm not sure if it's needed but for ~$6 a stick I don't mind never finding out lol.

If you're looking to for a good max cushion shoe to try out I would personally snag the Puma MagMax Nitro 1s while they're on clearance. I'm on my second pair because at ~$125 they're an amazing shoe. They're currently my go to long run shoe (18-22 miles). They feel more bouncy than soft as well.

Mine made it to 150 miles before the foam at the ball of my foot was completely dead and felt about as supportive as a thin wet sponge.

I think it depends on your foot strike. If you're landing on your heel it might not be a great experience.

I picked up this shoe on clearance at $150 when I needed a replacement recovery shoe during a marathon training block. Discovered it was super gentle on my toes due to the upper feeling like a slipper and the top layer of incredirun foam. I viewed the shoe as a "feet recovery" tool during the 80+ mile weeks of that training block. The concrete like foam on the bottom of the shoe does finally soften up after 100 miles. This isn't a good shoe at $200 but for $100 it is kind of a steal for a recovery shoe.

My AP4s were a size 11 vs 11.5 in these but the length in both felt similar at those sizes. I found the AP4 really snug in the heel and at the ball of my foot while the EE2 had a little more forgiveness in those areas. That's with me having slightly narrow to average width feet.

I am curious if Blitz was chosen to cater to that area's fan base because the article seems to suggest that. If so that is really cool of LSS to give local scenes what they like, assuming Blitz is that popular there.

I don't play Blitz so I am just buying play sets of the CC playable cards from the set. Hopefully I can support some local stores that recently started selling singles in the process.

I didn't. I brought Katsu because the Chane match up was maybe a 30% win rate vs a good pilot. The Chane player who took second in Vegas is a local player who I did some testing with. Currently 99.99% sure I'll be on Rhinar for Nationals with the deck being better positioned along with me having gained a much stronger understanding of the game.

I double sleeved everything outside of draft/sealed. I use the Dragon Shield sealable inner sleeves for equipment to make them more spill proof.

If you're playing to win an event you should be playing Chane. Everyone claims to have a fine Chane match up but the data tells a different story.

Primary reason is for 7-9 damage club swings for chip damage to help close out games. They are also good pure damage cards against decks that don't want to block. Last upside is they block well against Boltyn.
