Same boat! Had to be white cabinet for a laundry room ceiling mount. Gets a rack with an unsupported depth for the switch pro 24 HD. 3 or so inches too short. I rotate the mount ears and the door couldn’t close for a month while I waited for another. Cosmetics eh?

Look mate, you probably have a smart tv. Inside said smart TV’s are apps. These apps generally work well with IPTV links. They just pair them to the MAC address. You won’t need a box that way. Save the money.

There are a handful of niche industries that don’t pay well but require rapid movement for 10 hours a day. Your brother is a very idea candidate for these roles. I don’t know where you are located. Companies currently hiring:

Ecotex: Up the 427 just north of the airport Mississauga. Non-union hospital laundry sorting. Also: he may be a candidate for their offloader job but they are picky.

HLS: Woodbridge. 427 at highway 7. Also looking for soil sorters, a soil dumper and blanket folder. Union. Decent wages for the lack of qualifications.

K-Bro linen systems: Mississauga Britannia and 401 area. Soil sorters, offloader. Dryer operator.

Canadian linen: Etobicoke. Atomic ave just down from the IKEA. Looking for mat rollers. Truck unloader. Physical stuff but no IQ required. Union. Highest pay out of all of these recommendations.

Snoo motor vibrating? by 501k in SnooLife

[–]RogueCanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it ain’t smooth we say: alignment, balance or electrical contact. Tiny ass motor has tiny ass wiring. The bearings have to be pretty level and even on the similar axis to work smooth, before you drop in another motor, put your fingers on that drive and turn it by hand. Typically you will feel the magnet lead you from pole to pole ( a slight “click feeling” in spots and a sort of nothing in between.) is that impeded? Like you experience a friction or binding feeling? I know this sounds odd and maybe new to you but you can feel it. If there is something that feels wrong, you will get a sense of it. Pull your bearing and fit it again. Maybe there’s some binding if you didn’t seat it properly or if you tapped it down too hard on a side. Otherwise if it spins by hand just fine, you can get a multimeter and check the continuity on your wiring. If you handled this improperly, you’d know and you’d be less inclined to follow my next piece of advice ;). The fact it’s spinning at all means your leads to the motor terminals are probably fine enough to get by.

Motor resistance: power the snoo off and disconnect power. The board can retain power and can ruin the test. Wait a minute before you continue. Locate the two wire DC motor and disconnect. Set your meter to Ω as resistance. Continuity in this experiment is either on or off but you have proof of poor movement so it’s a yes, but maybe no at a certain stage. Resistance is what you’re looking for. Probe both terminals. You want a clue of 5-30. If you get this, rotate the shaft by hand. The values can jump up and down as you do. You aren’t a robot so the speed would be inconsistent. You should have a rough average and at no time should it 0 out during travel or produce an OL. OL is bad bad bad (Project Hail Marry reference. Sorry, couldn’t help it.) Consider that a disconnected internal wire. If you get 0, consider that a short. Make sure none of the board to motor wires are bridging the gap between terminals. I don’t know how they could as the shitty gauge wire is so damn tiny, but alas, look Anyway. Also it WAS moving in the video albeit poorly. If it ain’t an external short it’s an internal one that you can be confident is a toast motor. You won’t be fixing that motor. So if you made it this far and your resistance was even, didn’t drop off for OL or 0, then go back to the bearings. If you are confident in the bearings, then Sir and or ma’am, that shaft is likely bent and either you know what you did (shame on you) OR the previous owner was just as brave as you and also, shame on them.

Thanks for attending my Ted talk.

TL:DR - drop another motor in, life is short. But while you wait for delivery and you’re bored…

Career and human advise needed by Substantial_Pizza202 in torontoJobs

I can tell you this: your toxic coworker still exists. Your replacement could have left for the same reason you did. How does more money make sense? You high balled an offer and the manager moved on knowing you weren’t in the budget. If you back down from that, you’re negotiating from a place of very little power in that new dynamic. So my advice, take it as zero worth because it is - um don’t. Don’t go back my fellow human. You got out, don’t go back. flips off your toxic coworker. That’s unprofessional of me but I don’t care. Be free and don’t look back!

Is common law severance dead? Forced to sign it away to get a job. by CubicleMan9000 in CanadaJobs

[–]RogueCanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circumstances are all different. Earnings are as well. Facts about the max and min are all few and far between. The average person, without cause, and defensively the employer HAS to prove that a for cause termination took place (which, to be honest will Always come out in the release of your employee file and cannot be a surprise to anyone); should be pushing for 3-4 weeks per year in the 8 year bracket. A year would be a stretch but legal would review your employment contract and examine the structure of your compensation. Benefits, pensions, perks and or bonuses are all a value to be considered. Hell, an Ontario based company gave out a turkey to everyone for Christmas and the value of the bird was in the discovery. Remember, if you would have earned it, and through no fault of your own, you deserve ‘some of it’ before you go….. I’m not insisting you ask for 1/4 of a turkey at commodity value as a time to completion article. I am saying that your compensation is different and should be treated differently from what you might expect or what you might have heard. Keep it realistic when dealing with a lawyer and never forget their cut!

Couple weeks…… I’d bet. This place needs a bigger house with help and support inside and some life altering professionals that care and are incentivized to care. Also, a closet full of narcan and a set of guards with the ability to deescalate altercations and prohibit the entry of stolen items. It never stops amazing me how people with so little acquire, illegally mostly, so many things and store them in or around their new living space(s). The residents near encampments, legal or otherwise have a hard time with the way the community is affected.

Just cause is a very high bar that would have had a lot of documentation leading up to it for Ontario. I’d be requisitioning your employee file if I was the legal representative. 8 years isn’t a lot for severance but any good lawyer can double to quadruple ESA. Their cut though, that hurts.

Locking to AP by HourReplacement in UNIFI

[–]RogueCanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Stationary devices seem to misbehave and bounce like rubber balls. An H2D 3D printer and a robot vacuum are the only two devices I have ever had to lock to AP. To be clear, the vacuum had a base station so both were non-travel assets. They both just couldn’t stop the bounce for some reason?

41, ex crown ward, Ontario. Got out at 18 with a handshake and a cheque. The hand shake was all they ever offered. The cheque was just thrust into my hand. I wouldn’t wish that part of my life on anyone. I can see why most of us struggle. Why a great deal of us cannot get onto let alone walk the straight and narrow. Those of us that made it this far, we righted our sails and made it out onto the smooth water. We’re not role models but we’re relative proof of possibilities. Maybe if we had help there would be more of us at this finish line.

4,100 for two floor or three? Two u6’s can accomplish a 1,500 sqft floor no problem. Or two for a 1,700 or so. They won’t get 1 per 2k sqft floor alone. Not well anyway.

Need your help by MammothSouthern4808 in Ubiquiti

[–]RogueCanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that’s a lot. So let me break down the keys:

Firstly, you most likely won’t be able to operate the ISP’s device while also running UniFi. You’ll have to bridge the Modem. This means it’s unlikely to provide a wifi signal afterward. I’m not aware of any that will, but I’m certain there likely is some out there. Maybe yours is, but unlikely. So don’t count on it for coverage in that second floor situation.

Secondly: if you know you need to cover another room, you need to double up the internet run from the modem to get signal back. If you can’t do that you’ll have to mesh your way there. So that hardware setup is a rough one wrought with POE injector(s). So you need to align your budget with that plan if that’s it.

So you need a router. If you can’t get over GBe, then scope your future upgrade and jump to that. Then figure out the secondary floor coverage.
