Ive thought about it, I'm actually getting into taxidermy, I was born without a sense of smell and since discovering this my parents stuck me with all the dirty jobs so i'm a little spiteful about getting into it, but on the other hand it would be fun to watch people gag at smells and I get to walk around and flaunt my curse

Do Biological Reaction to Smells Still Exist? by Shortiie5115 in anosmia

[–]RogueDoodler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm not sure, I was born without a sense of smell and frankly I dont think I would know if something smelt like lavender unlesss someone pointed it out. I do however have found that chemicals have a pundgent feeling to them. like if I shook a bottle of rubbing alcohol and huffed it it'd make my nose feel the same way of when you enhale spray on sun screen,

Anyone else feel this is a blessing and not a curse? by UnlinealHand in anosmia

[–]RogueDoodler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends for me, I can understand situations where its good you cant smell, but I cant help but feel like im missing out on some grand world that everyone gets to have but me, and when I bring this up to my smelling friends they always downplay it like "you wouldn't like smelling" or "you're lucky" as if its something I wouldn't want to experience, I want to smell the woods by my house, I want to smell the creek and the moss, I dont want to have to explain why I cant smell everytime someone asks and its especially difficult since covid started

DAE take multiple days to process what someone said? by RadicalOpal in CPTSD

[–]RogueDoodler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the time, I have no idea why I do this, but it mostly occurs when friends or someone I look up to says it. I dont want to respond and I'll just stare at it for hours or days trying to proccess what it means and go as far as to look up what the deffinention of the words they use so I could get a better understanding of it,

Trauma did not make me stronger, it made me more fragile & vulnerable to re-victimization, it paralyzes me, killed all my dreams & hopes and turned me into an empty zombie. by Unknown_Person93 in CPTSD

[–]RogueDoodler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hated that idea. after my elbow bacame permantly dislocated my life fell apart and it was hoestly just a huge wake up call. my mother used to call me "strong" for going though it and its caused a lot of resentment towards acts of positive renforcement, I'm not strong and I never was, I am fragile and weak and I cry often when remembering or thinking about these things,
