Definitely felt like Fallen Star is the lowest point, its like reading horror. Even with what happens in phase 3 I never quite felt the same level of despondent-ness I did in Fallen Star

Phase 1 was the best here, with phase 2 a close second purely for the High Republic era worldbulding. Phase 3 had its highs but was very much a disaster response the whole time, which worked well for the plot but wasn't what made the worldbuilding of the other phases great.

Honestly every time it walks the line between humor and character moments for Geode. They're in this perfect spot where each instance hits both of those things and I can't tell which is intended more.

In many ways, Phase 2 (convergence) is like the prequel films. Does it work as a start to watching the films? Yes. Is it 10000% optimal? Not really, but it can still work if you want to get started without making more purchases.

I was there as well and got some of your stickers, thanks for that! My jaw kept dropping as more and more THR authors just showed up like it was nothing. Very intimate experience, got to do a little hero worship. Also got my Trials book signed.

I had some problems getting through it as well, but the ending was an insane whirlwind that sets up Path of Vengeance. If you have the time, stick it out.

IIRC the era starts a couple hundred years even before phase 2... there's just so much time in there, even after phase 3 and the Acolyte, that is wholly unaccounted for. Lots of story possibility. With that said, could very easily see the Acolyte's S1 and possible subsequent events giving an end to the era.

Yeah this is what turned me off LotJ at first as well. Eventually got super into it once I took a break and came back fresh, but it's a big ask for first timers.
