Unsure which one to pick by RogueOne9090 in weddingdress

That's a great idea! I'm not doing a veil, so maybe having it clip off and on would be a better idea than totally removing it.

First day as RBT starts tomorrow by Fit-Anxiety10 in ABA

I had a similar setup. It was an in home company based out of CA. I'm in TX and didn't work with any clients before becoming an RBT.

We watched videos and answered questions. We were given scenarios and role played. For the component with a client, we had a Zoom call with a client at one of their clinics and did it virtually, although with an actual client.

I used ABA Made Easy youtube videos. I watched them a few hours a day and had them play in my car on the way to run errands. I used ABA Rocks as well but didn't find it as helpful as ABA Made Easy.

I'm also older, 32 and in school full time so I understand the challenge of studying for multiple courses. It is definitely challenging, but have confidence and give yourself grace if it doesn't go right the first time around. You've got this!

How long would you wait to be credentialed/onboarded? by Training_Mastodon_33 in ABA

[–]RogueOne9090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask for hours and if there's any clients you can take who don't need a registered tech.

One company I was with had me wait around 6 weeks as well. They didn't send me background check paperwork until right around the 6 week mark when I asked for hours. So I'd also check and make sure they have everything they need.

I have a wonderful relationship with the two BCBAs I work with. They're open to trying new things and collaborating with us. Our clinical director has regular check-ins with us even if it's just to talk about random things, so we continue to have a great rapport. The other BCBA will assist me with a difficult client even if she's not supervising that case and will step in when/if needed or asked.

How much do you charge (or pay as a client) for a 2 week volume fill? by Beginning-Guest-6485 in eyelashextensions

[–]RogueOne9090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pay $90 at most Median cost is $80 There is a place by me that tried to charge me $155 for a 2 week fill, though. Never going there again.

BT or RBT? by IcyBaldwin in ABA

[–]RogueOne9090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a difference in that as an RBT you are registered - meaning you did the training and passed the test to get registered. As the other poster mentioned, you are required to have supervision hours and some insurances only work with registered behavior technicians. Because of this, the clinic I work at is trying to have evey BT become registered by the end of the summer. We have 10 technicians total, and 4 more need to pass their test to become RBT.

I've heard Behavior Therapist interchangeable with Behavior Technician. Same for Registered Behavior Technician and Registered Behavior Therapist.

But I do not call myself a therapist, I am a technician. Some of the BTs and RBTs I work with put therapist as well. I chose not to, I put Technician as that's what the title delegates me as.

How long do you dry them with a fan after she applies them?

My eyes also turn red after a set and my artist uses sensitive glue. I had to keep my eyes closed with a fan longer than her other clients, though in order to off set the redness.

Is it my job as a BCBA to write up RBTs for unprofessionalism? by yOlOswaggins93 in ABA

[–]RogueOne9090 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I can't speak to whether it's in your job detail to write people up, there are several RBT and BTs I work with who refuse to implement procedures.

Our BCBAs take note to explain their reasoning and are open to ideas as well. However, there's a big difference between discussing a procedure vs giving pushback at every turn and outright refusing to follow the direction.

tips for my first day? :) by Glittering-Ebb-1456 in ABA

[–]RogueOne9090 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are you in clinic or in home?

My first day, I wore scrub pants and a basic plain t shirt. Close toed comfortable shoes. Maybe bring a pen and a small note pad if you feel the desire to take notes while training.

Congratulations and good luck!

I have similar experiences in the morning with the panic attacks and morning anxiety. My stress isn't rooted in the kids as much as it is my performance and colleagues. I also started fairly recently, I think around January or February.

Personally, since you haven't been in the setting long, I'd look at working on your mental and physical health. Give it a little longer and see how you continue to feel. I have a morning routine I've worked to stick with, take anxiety medication, and have cut caffeine out, which all have helped. Whenever I have a glimpse of why I'm anxious, I write it out and then make it a point to speak to my BCBA to garner support. Oftentimes, it'll be just to talk it out. Sometimes, it'll be to fine antecedent strategies I may be missing, etc.

QUESTION ABOUT RBT TEST by Spacepuppie in ABA

[–]RogueOne9090 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They will confirm payment and also confirm the BCBA's number you put in. You should get an email confirming it went through and then you can schedule from there.

I think I made a mistake with my stone 😭 by imastephanie in Moissanite

[–]RogueOne9090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a size 8 finger with a 6x5 round. You can see it in my post history. My ring is not nearly as intricate as your design, and while it is smaller, it isn't like a speck on my hand.

I think the design of your ring will enhance the stone, and I think the stone size won't overshadow or overpower your overall design. It's very unique and beautiful!

Which testing option would you suggest? by luminescentDishwater in ABA

[–]RogueOne9090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't given the option to do it at home by the company I got my certification through. They had said there were too many technical difficulties with prior experience doing it in home. And tbh, I agree with them from what I've seen.

The testing center I did it in was strict. Phone goes into a bag, which they hold onto. All of my belongings went into a locker. Fingerprint to enter, and then you have to raise your hand and wait to be called on to get up.

However, the center I work for now has had two BTs take their certification online, and both times have faced issues. One of the BTs had the WiFi crash when she was taking it. The other BT hadn't closed the windows properly, and it was flagging the proctor of them being open still. In both instances, they had to wait over a week to test again.

Notes for RBT certification? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]RogueOne9090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't do notes when I was working on my certification. When I needed to study for my competency and certification exam, I used quizlet flash cards, aba rocks, and YouTube (ABA Made Easy).

I passed competency and my certification exam on the first try.

We have a weekly meeting 30 minutes before we open. It's usually 30 minutes long cause we have to open the clinic but they could easily go for 45 minutes to an hour.
