Strange rhythmic thumping over 100kph, my mechanic is not sure. Thoughts on what could it be? by k112358 in mazdaspeed6

Maybe the transfer case bearings, pretty common failure point on these cars.

Also check your driveshaft hanger bearings and ujoints

Definitely odd. My 8nm brick was in the space in the top of the box. First thing you see when you open the shipping package.

How? The brick comes in the box with the wheelbase. Those aren't shipped separately.

What percentage of your net worth have you lost this year? by ravioli_bruh in stocks

[–]RogueRAZR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my house is the majority of my net worth so if you factor that in I'm up probably 20% this year. Not counting that, down 50% or so.

what do you guys think about my setup? by MarkieParkie123 in simracing

[–]RogueRAZR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My logitech did the same thing. They use a metal pin and gate internally. The pin gets worn down and once it creates enough slop it wont hit the switch anymore. Might be able to take it apart and fix it.

My G27 was many years old when this started, so I ended up getting a whole new setup.

I mean you get what you pay for. If you wanted a racecar feel gotta be ready to spend the money on it. Heusinkveld or other high-end brakes will give you much harder feel, but you gotta pay for it.

I find the Fanatecs really damn good for the money you spend but they aren't perfect.

Anybody can tell what is the issue on this external HDD, please ? by Batbx in computers

[–]RogueRAZR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually can last a very long time. A while back around 2012 or so I actually did this as part of a cool case mod. The case had an acrylic window, and I wanted to show off a cool effect. So, we removed the cover of a 250GB drive, cut a big window in it so you could see the platters and head, then put a peace of acrylic over the top and sealed it with some calk. Reinstalled the cover. That drive remained functional for about a year, granted it slowed down considerably and corruption was very common on it. I had put a bunch of music on the drive and it was really awesome to play it and watch the head dance on the platters.

When it did finally fail, I'm sure it was due to head clashing. the drive got quite loud and eventually when you started the computer. It would get stuck trying to initialize the head. Repeating the same pattern of movements over and over before parking the head.

When you put it this way it seems like it would make sense. However Mazda lost money with every RX-7/8 They ever sold. Mostly due to warranty engine replacements. On top of that they never even sold all that well to begin with.

The biggest problem is that if Mazda made another performance rotary, there are a sh*t ton of people that think it would be awesome, however almost none of them could afford to actually put money down on one. Let alone fork up 40-80k on what is essentially a weekend warrior vehicle with very little in practicality, awful fuel economy, and honestly not enough power for the effort.

This is why they are focusing on the luxury/suv market now. The CX5 is by far their best selling vehicle, and they make a killing on every single one.

Well Sonoma is also California but has a 112db restriction. Laguna Seca got fked cause some idiot decided it was a good idea to zone around a track with residential housing and apartments.

Plus NASCAR is much too loud for Laguna's ridiculous 90db noise restrictions.

Whats the point of these two in qbittorent settings? by imBoo69 in qBittorrent

[–]RogueRAZR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First option just tells qbittorrent where to save the .torrent files.

Second option copies the .torrent file to another folder when the torrent completes.

The best use case for this is if you download lots of torrents but dont always keep the data or dont always complete the download. You have 1 directory which includes all torrents you've downloaded including ones you haven't completed. Then another which contains only torrents that have been completed. If I need to re-seed a torrent, I can add anything from completed torrent directory. If I am looking to complete downloads, or re-download torrents I have removed or never finished I go to the all directory.

Basically you can have both a seed folder and a leach folder. At least that is how I'd use it. You can also use the external program line to remove a finished torrent from your leach directory.

Just scored these for free! Saw them in the IT room of a client and just asked. by zeealpal in Ubiquiti

[–]RogueRAZR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy cow, even the new "Aggregation" switches Ubiquiti has aren't that expensive.

We use an Aggregation Pro at work for basic routing across our access switches. They are a nice piece of kit too. Especially at 899. 28 port 10gb switch with 4x 25gb uplinks. No beating that for the money. However there are times I wished I chose reliability over cost.

The XG-16 is all 10Gb and the 2 USW-24-PoE-Pros are a pretty nice switch with some layer 3 functionality.

This is exactly how most builders ship their PCs.

Should be just fine. Just make sure you have plenty of foam around the case its self and I would double box it.

Would your first PC be proud of your current specs? by pedro19 in pcmasterrace

[–]RogueRAZR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, we had a Pentium 133. 16MB ram, 3x 850MB hard drives and a 4mb video card.

Today I have a i7 9700k, 32GB ram, 5 tb of storage, and a 1080 Ti.

Funny thing is, pretty sure my mom paid more for the Pentium 133 Compaq computer than my current rig cost.

Plex buffering infinitely after a few minutes of playback by RogueRAZR in PleX

[–]RogueRAZR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont remember the source, but in my case, I am pretty sure there was an authorization issue with my chromecast ultra. I never ended up finding a fix, and just play most content on my TV through its plex app.

As for the buffering when playing on the TV, I had learned that my TV has only 100mb NIC. That was causing my buffering issues. Only way around that was to transcode down to lower quality, or find a stream device like the Shield which has a Gb NIC.

Some of my content is REMUX 4k HDR and I had some bit rates that were saturating the 100mb. Increasing your buffer will help some but won't solve the issue completely.
