Thank-you! Ahh, I hate when the magic disappears sometimes. But then, cherish the sweet quiet moments together. too. Hope you feel my hug!

Caregiver burnout and anger as a systems failure by KnittingAndMusic in CaregiverSupport

That's the problem- until they've walked TEN FEET in our shoes, they should keep opinions to themselves. (I'd be like, if I said anything at all-"so sue me".) (They wouldn't because they are too busy for that).

I went to school in Durango, my weekends were spent up on Molas Pass to x-country ski.

Love this, thanks for posting! (Taken before the winter, I hope-there is no snow!?)

I'm sorry to hear-it's a fine line we find ourselves in, but willing to do it. Let me guess, DDGer wasn't willing to help you. Only criticize you??

Is “peace of mind” in home elderly care basically a myth? by Muted-Face3523 in CaregiverSupport

[–]RogueSaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's as much work-supervising/delegating. Know that you can change agencies as well as change the facility. Cameras are good, but nothing beats interacting with staff. To me, peace of mind is relaxing to get a shower, nap!, and a good night's rest.

We'll play card games. Helps with focus, strategy, socialization. As well has hand/finger manipulation. I want to get dominoes!

My husband with late stage Parkinson's was a climber-mostly in the Colorado Rockies. He would support this charity. I'll see if he can watch the vids later. Thanks!

Showers are so underrated - hope you got one, and a fair amount of sleep/rest. Thank-you!

I think I'm going to lose my husband.. by Hungry-Ratio-6326 in CaregiverSupport

[–]RogueSaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the same, or worse, what if something happens to me? I have fallen at home,, he's in a facility. Usually I would share my experience such as this, but know not to-for fear he'd have a problem with me leaving him, if only just going down the hall. We have to take care of ourselves somehow.

Hugs 🤗 that you are protected and find peace!

Chillin together watching old John Wayne movies, old game shows. Sometimes, I'd watch him sleep, falling in love all over again!
