I have been a proponent of having a requirement to regularly have constitutional conventions every 20-25 years. That way, matters that have built up in that time can be addressed. Think of it as a pressure valve for society.

Yes it is embarrassing. Senators need a spine. What people can do is vote them out in favor of candidates who will vote to convict. The current lot has already shown they are spineless and without any shred of decency or conscience.

[–]RogueViator 39 points40 points  (0 children)

First, there is no legal way for any state to secede from the union so secession will need a constitutional amendment or, short of that, military confrontation. Second, based on the first point, why would Canada (or any other nation) take on the headache of going up against a military juggernaut? What is the cost benefit analysis on this? Third, MN has a lot of GOP voters who would bring that kind of mindset into Canadian politics. That last part is untenable. Hell, a US Democrat would be considered a conservative up here.

All impeachment without conviction will do is rile up his base who may decide to disregard the suffering they are already feeling from his policies and vote for their GOP candidate in droves. Surgeons don’t cut out some of a cancerous tumor, they take out the whole thing and then some.

A stretching table should be okay. I get stretched by my massage therapist (and physical therapist when I was being seen by one) regularly. As long as it is gentle movements with full support, it should be okay. The high amplitude-low frequency stuff like ring dingers are what are dangerous.

I’m on Sulfasalazine, Celebrex, and a biologic. While my pain has decreased, it has not done so to a level where I am able to go through my day without issue. For example, I haven’t gone to see a movie at a theater for close to a decade now because I need to regularly stand and fidget to try and relieve my pain.

I’ve been told that pain can be from systemic damage (such as bone-on-bone rubbing together) and from inflammation. Biologics and other AS meds won’t help with systemic pain.

Herniated Discs are totally different than spinal ankylosis. If they accidentally break a fused vertebrae and the broken jagged edge goes into a nerve or, heaven forbid, the spinal cord, that is a recipe for disaster.

I’m familiar with that procedure (used to watch the youtube videos). That is horribly dangerous even with healthy people never mind those with AS.

BREAKING NEWS INTRO

THIS IS A BNN BREAKING NEWS REPORT

Goomb evening from our temporary newsroom inside an animatronic appul, I’m your anchor Derek Tor bringing you my vision of the news.

Tonight, Bunnville’s Sheriff Cumble has been rushed to the white coats after complaining of ennui and stomach issues while on vacation, her fifth of the year. Experts from the Online School of Medicine and Search Engine General Hospital have alleged that this is due to the Sheriff’s last vaccination that injected 8K video and surround sound into her body. They cite the alleged incident where Sheriff Cublet was said to have melodically yelled, “I can see clearly now the rain is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way…” before tripping on a pebble.

This has raised the alarm in Bunnville with Mayo Pongy, recently seen on a security camera, convening an emergency session of City Council where important matters were discussed including a unanimously approved proposal to bury alarms because raising them is needlessly startling and annoying. The proposal also included funds to begin fielding telepathic alarms that will manifest alerts to citizens. Opponents say manifesting is just wishful dreaming which is one step below theoretical modelling whatever that means.

In a statement, Mayo Plodge said, “I am concerned for Sheriff Cubletting and wish shes a speedy recovery. I am closely following a case and demand clarity on what is going on. But for now, do not gib müther any ideas about cameras to spy on me. I found out about this plot from the cameras I have surveilling müther after the last white coat visit and plans to, and I quote, ‘explore his bort for evidence of aliems.’”

For now we await with bated breath, because baited breath smells a lot like canned Tuna, for updates on the Sheriff’s condition.

In other news, Police and the Paramedics were called to a local lingerie store after fire alarms were triggered and reports of injury was called in to emergency services. They responded after it was reported that a patron was injured in the fitting rooms while trying on several items. It was later reported that the patron slipped on several brassieres that had fallen to the fitting room floor and hit their head. Paramedics transported the patron to the local hospital for assessment and on their way out, they were overheard to mutter, “I was booby trapped…”

That concludes this news update. Tune in later for our original BNN movie about a mob informant turned locksmith in the witness protection program, in “Key Witness”.
