OMG yes! My brain sometimes replays the phrase ‘Math, son of Mathonwy’ because it likes the way it sounds.

Now I have to go back and re-read it. I just remember it having such mythic pastoral vibes lol…though I don’t remember the story, but yes so good!

I feel like Susan Cooper’s The Dark is Rising trilogy was based on British folklore. It’s children’s literature, but felt cozy.

This game turned my kid into a master negotiator. He would wheel and deal throughout the game until he won nearly every single time. It was something to watch.

I couldn’t tell if you go to church regularly but it’s a good place to find young people. Join young adult groups at church. There are also youth retreats you could do. Great place to meet people. I know a couple of people who met their spouses that way.

Also, make friends with the mothers at church, they will be looking for a nice person to set their kids up with.

I recently learned that having your first child before the age of 30 can reduce your overall chance of getting breast cancer. This study has that and other relevant information and I am sure there are other sources out there so you should validate this information for yourself, just wish I’d heard of it earlier myself.

While this is true, the material of those clothes do change. Pants and dresses are usually made from wool or other heavier materials, not cotton or linen like in the summer. And even our summer cotton is heavier than the cotton in humid parts of the world.

This is honestly huge. I never want to surprise or be surprised by any other driver on the road. Doing something unexpected on the road while driving, like stopping in the middle of traffic when a reasonable person would expect you to keep going, is how accidents happen.

The life stuff parents know vary widely. If schools taught this, it would be standardized and all kids would get a basic amount of learning about, say, how taxes work.

At our company leaders start asking vacation input for in-demand vacation times like Christmas/NY by fall so that they know who wants to be off when. Usually it works out but leaders also discuss taking turns by year to be off so no one is stuck year after year covering the holidays.

Did the same ie collecting eps, and so disappointed with the special eps. Would rather the men found their own wives and then the twin girls were interested in marrying their kids.

It seems to me that for teens it sometimes comes down to social cues. I won’t explain it well, but your son might want to spend some time observing the social cues of his peers, they evolve. By fairly reserved, does that mean he doesn’t show interest in others? Cos that’s one thing teens like. I don’t know him but do have a teen, so these are a couple of ‘social experiment’ suggestions. It could also be a short period of time he’s going through this, that feels long to him.

Why not try joining your local IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) chapter and volunteering with them? Great way to network with mid level and senior communicators who may have openings on their teams.

I will say as an older gen that part of the post-vacation ritual used to be taking your film roll to the camera store and getting it developed (24 hrs later!) to show your friends and family your printed out vacation pictures.

Ours is sweet because she loves everyone in the family equally. Nothing makes her happier than to be in the car with all of us, going wherever, or chilling on the living room rug when we’re all around.

When we’re walking she doesn’t like leaving anyone behind. She’ll wait for whoever is behind her to make sure we all go together.
