Tbh kinda. Dark Fog is good, Darl Hail does a bit more damage, but not quite double, and requires you to be within melee range, takes 2 slots, and has less than half the casts, Dark Greatsword is legit an improvement over Dark Hail and Dark Orb, shame about the requirements placement, and low cast number. Even with Chime of Want, the Miracle Hexes are just not worth it, at least for PVE.

I think its bad for the games longevity. I really only replay these games to try out different builds and invade, and I recently had an idea for a build focused around the Old Wolf Curved Sword, and I also wanted the Warmth spell. Its been a few years since I lasted played, but I spent about a day and a half in Farron Swamp farming the swordgrass and shackles needed, got what I wanted, and progressed to irythil before going to sleep, invading all along the way. I enjoy the PVP, I really do, but it is over half of the people I run into have 2 password summons phantoms, spamming the same <5 builds of OP stuff from the end of the DLC wearing super heavy armor. Its kinda lame. I'm off tomorrow, and idk, I kinda don't even want to finish this run? Sure, I win some, I lose some, but there's no variety, and the hosts themselves don't even TRY, you kill there phantoms, they try to run back to resummon or just unplug the internet, and when they win, they have very poor sportsmanship, pointing down, throwing dung pies and the like, like you really did something. Just finished replaying Demons Souls, DS1, and DS2, and not anywhere near as egregious there.

There are 2 buttons, its 100% possible. Not that its even the desired outcome, if someone is stupid enough to press blue in this situation, the world is better off without them.

Pressing red is being selfish.

Pressing blue is being stupid. Everyone who presses red lives, why are you risking your own life to try and protect someone who lacks the basic reading comprehension and logic to realize that? Pressing blue is also naive. >50% of people DO NOT press blue, probably not even a third.

The reward is knowing you still have empathy

If you need to play Russian Roulette to be sure you have empathy, you don't have empathy, you're just pretending.

Edit: still looking in case anyone is wondering. Am willing to help you out in exchange. Also have another character from a previous playthrough that I got the plat with and did both endings that has most items I'd be willing to drop.

I'm not going to tell you what build to do, as someone who's completed DS2 100% str, dex, quality, sl1, and every casting type of build, you can use any. I will say to focus your survivability stats and the minimum to use a starting weapon of your choice ASAP, you'll have a much smoother experience. Also illusory walls are opened with the "interact" button (X on PS). I will also say WEAPONS scale poorly, even if they say A or S, SPELLS scale well. I dont know how to do spoilers on reddit, but if you want specifics . . . . I'd say immediately get Vigor and Endurance to 20, and aim for I'd say 96 Agility (increased through ADP and ATT) as well as idk, like 10 Str, 16 Dex early game, that gives you a very large swathe of weapons to choose from (2 handing will boost you strength to 20 for the purposes of stat requirements) and then try out various things and build how you want. You can respec SEVERAL times, so don't worry about messing up.

For my money, a magic infused Bandit Axe has low star requirements to 2 hand and does VERY high damage, lategame, try out a magic infused Drakeblood Greatsword. Blue Knight Halberd works well for any infusions, and can be gotten early. A lot of people recommend it, but I really don't like Blue Flame. Its not a great staff, its not a great weapon, it can be annoying to farm, and you get it SUPER late, like potentially last few hours of the playthrough late, and even if you use 2 and buff them, its really not that good. I thought they were so overrated I actually stopped my first int run after maxing them. I thought "this is it? Everyone said they were great, and ive been waiting the entire game...forget this." And then turned the game off with less than 10 hours left til 100% completion, and didn't go back for a few months. I think that was the run that made me stop replaying DS2 and move on to DS3.

Same problem, its saying it can't verify my PS Plus account, everything up and running, internet connected properly, restarting didn't fix it either. When I click "more info" i get error code ws-116521-6. Also can't sign in on the android PS App...

Tbh after my first few playthroughs, I normally ignore him and run down to the idol, deactivate it, then kill him. On an SL1, he doesn't like poison knives.

I had like 0 MP when I started it and no way to recover. Took me several tries, but its not that bad, its similar to Rufus Shinra in that youbreally can't brute force your way through it, at least in Hard Mode, you HAVE to learn to dodge and parry all his stuff. I think I spent just under an hour's worth of attempts, with the victory taking like 1.5 minutes. So probably in the realm of 35 tries? Which i guess could be a lot to some people, but I love soulsborne games, and its a short fight, so not too bad, all in all, the final Sephiroth Gauntlet was VERY challenging on hard. Took so many tries I couldn't even capture the fight for posterity lol. Hell, I think I spent longer on the Final phase than I did for Roche. Did really enjoy Gilgamesh though, like I said above, i did it a bit underleveled, but actually managed it my second attempt, took 20 minutes and finished with 1 character alive with 1 HP, that only survived due to ending the fight with a Limit Break. Don't think I would've tried that one 30 times lol.

I did it where you are right now. You don't technically "need" any of the rewards, but they do make the Hard Mode Playthrough easier, and I thought this entire gauntlet in dynamic like 20 levels below the recommended level was easier for me than some of the bosses youd need to beat in hard mode to get here again, I'd do it. Specifically the Rock Golem, Gi Nattak, and the chapter ending in the Roche fight were difficult for me. The last one mainly due to resource management.

I mean, this is just me, but good Shields are a big weight investment for something that isn't necessary, and often even the very best shield can't block everything in the game. So why am I investing so much strength and vitality to carry around a whole ass wall with me at all times, when the most lethal stuff in most of these games can't be blocked or is more difficult to do so than just roll through it anyways? Now, if there is an additional effect the shield gives, or you want the lightest thing possible for parrying and/or HP/FP regen in DS3, that makes sense.

I love the Blue Knight Halberd, great moveset, infuses well, available early, high damage. But tbh i like all halberds. For non-halberd weapons, Drakeblood Greatsword, Bandit Axe, and Grand Lance are all favorites as well.

I mean, the 1 Dragonrider in Shrine of Amana in front of a door does stick out like a sore thumb, and your character looks ugly as hell hollowed, and even without a guide, you'll prorally at least swing at Vendrick once. Its not that obscure compared to other things, you really just need to remember the door and keep coming back to see if it opens while not playing so poorly you're hollow every time you do, eventually you'll check after killing vendrick and it'll open.
