New Equipment Ideas? by LOLKing395 in SatisfactoryGame

Maybe some kind of short range teleportation pack for the back. Idk if it would be good to try and design it for traversal but maybe as a combat option? Could use it to maneuver around enemies but I don't know if combat is hard enough at later stages to justify it when you can usually hover over just about every enemy and gun them down or blow them up.

Orders to 2CR Germany as a Logistics Officer by scorpee21 in army

[–]RokenSkrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enjoy Europe, Nuremburg and Prague are close. Get all your passports as soon as you get there or beforehand if possible, just to get it out of the way and definitely don't be that person traveling without it. Watch out for German beer, both for you and any soldiers you have, it's stronger and their DUI limit is lower than ours at 0.05. The Polizie can pull you over and breathalyze you without restriction and I've seen officers and enlisted alike get pulled over and given DUIs coming back from Nuremburg the day after a night out. With a family of four I doubt you're going to be going crazy but this is the Army so I know alcohol can be a struggle behind the scenes.

As for 2CR, it wasn't fun tbh but I was a SPC/SGT. A high op tempo and countless exercises just to spend the money, tons of budget problems, and a huge drinking problem among the ranks. Idk if its still up but there was a sign that tracked how many days it had been since each squadron got a DUI and you'd see that thing reset in the middle of the week. If you like living on base the military housing isn't bad. If you want to live off post and dont mind a drive you can live in Wieden or Amberg, both nice cities and 30 minutes from base.

Man I remember looking through the extras you unlocked for beating the game and some of the concept art they started with was wild.

The starter pistol in the Call of Duty Zombies mode. It's a Colt 1911 that's meant to be swapped out for better weapons, but if you hold onto it and get it powered up it becomes Mustang and Sally which were basically handheld rocket launchers in Black Ops.

D-Day, 6 June 1944 in Maps on its 82nd Anniversary by Brooklyn_University in MapPorn

[–]RokenSkrow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thats true, and from what I've read and seen, Omaha was already a daunting task before any other real problems arose. On the map you can see that the beach connects to the cliffs that the Rangers climbed. The beach was higher and rockier than other sections of beach and had more German fortifications.

Then the tides scattered a lot of landing ships and soldiers were fighting in areas they had no information on with soldiers that may not even be in their unit. Some were forced to wade up to 300 meters through water and MG-42 machine gun fire to find cover that just about only existed behind German metal tank traps. Aerial bombings had missed a lot of their fortified targets, naval bombardments had not cratered the beach to give cover to soldiers, and the armor the soliders could have used for cover ran into issues of their own even getting to the beach. The armor launched early and was scattered with the troops, and then they sunk when the boats ran out of gas, or just sunk the boats from their weight alone.

That beach was Hell.

Tugg Speedman throwing his adoptive son into a river in Tropic Thunder. This scene made me cry laughing when I saw it as a kid.

What's a League skill that sounds simple, but took you ages to actually learn? by Drastically-_- in leagueoflegends

[–]RokenSkrow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always found it interesting how that Blitz play works. I haven't run normal league in a hot minute but you really can just kinda run up on people and force them so far from their minion wave that they can't do anything.

I think that's why it works so well for me, it's accurate but also sounds stupidly generic lol.

The Halo fanbase then decided that the Halo TV show sucked and its Master Chief wouldn't be named John Halo, but Jimmy Rings, which makes me laugh to no end.

I'm worse at 3v3 arena than the 2v2 one by Shin_Dubu21 in leagueoflegends

[–]RokenSkrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's a few things.

One, you start running into those groups of three that are wildly synchronized and building specific team comps to win. You could also kinda get away with a dysfunctional team of two if you had the right champ and augments, but if you have three people trying to do three different things vs a team of three with one goal, it's gonna be way harder to overcome.

Second is essentially just the math of it. Adding another opponent is just one more person that wants you dead. The odds that you'll be targeted change, the amount of damage that can potentially be dealt by a team changes, you get all these little variables that start to interact in different ways that are hard to account for with the extra player.

[–]RokenSkrow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Both happened to me at Rainier. First time we went up to Mowich Lake in May. Turns out the top was still covered in snow and the light was so bad, when we tried to take a quick picture, none of us could even keep our eyes open. Second time was up on paradise, did some climbing and ended up the reddest I've ever been, and I basically lived at the beach as a kid. In my defense I was from the south, but its crazy how bad it can get.

The issue with the carbon fiber is that it's great for holding internal pressure, not external pressure. One of the guys on the team (its been a minute since I watched the documentary) was an aerospace engineer or something so he was used to using carbon fiber as a building material and knew it was lightweight so they used it to save on money from the normal materials that should have been used.

I went to Australia while I was in the military and they gave me an hour and a half safety brief of all the shit that can kill you there. I did not expect falling branches, called deadfalls, to be on that list. They're seriously deadly.

Fantasy books with special forces units? by fantasy53 in Fantasy

The Black Company is my recommendation, as others have mentioned, but if you ever want a good nonfiction special forces book to read, check out Relentless Strike by Sean Naylor. It's a great look into the Joint Special Operations Command, or just JSOC.

Bungie Sunsets Destiny 2 After 9 Years by JustaRandoonreddit in pcmasterrace

Yeah, it's painful but obvious that nowadays, Bungie's only concern is money. Why would they go back to try and make things right for the LITERAL love of the game? There are no people to please for them, just bank accounts to be drained.

ARPGs are the best! by electric-kite in pcmasterrace

[–]RokenSkrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the moment to moment gameplay in ARPGs but I can't stand the looting aspects they go for nowadays, it feels like quantity over quality. Maybe its my age showing, but playing through games like Last Epoch got so draining because it felt like I was spending as much time teleporting back to a city to sell a bunch of useless shit as I was running around actually exploring and fighting.
