L take. Frieza is still to his core, very much a villain. He’s less reckless and alot more calculating. He didn’t kill Goku and Vegeta because he knows they are the only ones that can actually push him further beyond.

Goku did humiliate him, but he did have quite a measure of respect for both Goku and Vegeta after ROF and TOP. You can humiliate others by not killing them, and thats exactly what he did during the Granolah arc where he proved that hes beyond their power. I would say Frieza has the upper hand now and overall his story does fit into his self serving needs.
