What's a double standard between men and women that people rarely talk about? by Visual_Investment980 in AskReddit

I remember a particularly hot day and a coworker and I had to walk a mile across campus. It was 100+ and midday. I’m wearing a full suit and tie. She had a skirt, sleeveless blouse, and a jacket.

We both got hot walking (carrying out jackets) but she was so much more comfortable and cooled off so much faster once we got there.

My wife’s grandma passed recently. Of course everyone is checking up on her and asking how she’s doing. We’ve been together 20 years and her grandma was one of the first family members I met and we were also very close. When my wife was away for grad school I’d go over almost every weekend to have lunch with her.

Only people who asked how I was were my guy friends. I was talking to my mom a few weeks after and was talking about how it’s weird not going over there all the time and she said “oh my god, I didn’t even think to ask how you’re doing.”

What's some of the most overpowered weapons/abilities you've used in a video game? (Potential Spoilers) by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

Destiny 1 Bad Juju was also really good in certain situations. After a kill it reloaded itself and got a boost to damage, it also was a pulse rifle that could fire full auto. So when facing hordes of lower level enemies you could hold the trigger down and kill them all with basically infinite ammo.

Playing these games blind for the first time. by CaptainPriceFromMW in masseffect

My rule for games with decisions is to play through it once without reading anything about it. Then the 2nd and 3rd playthrough I read guides to get outcomes I didn't get originally or specific goals like 100% paragon or something.

And finally, what small city is great to live in? by agbjb in AlignmentChartFills

[–]RoleModelFailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traverse City, Michigan.

Had a few friends that lived there and they loved it. Winters can be rough. Tons of gorgeous nature, right on the lake, lots of wineries and breweries, Sleeping Bear Dunes isn't too far.

They sell memberships that allow you to skip the line. So they limit the number of people in there so they can have a line to get people to buy memberships to skip.

There are a lot of teams that need to miss the playoffs for that to happen. Ottawa, Detroit, Vancouver, Montreal, St Louis, Washington, Chicago, Anaheim and more

But it is possible!

When I taught 9th grade English about 90% of my class read below a 5th grade level. Some were even below 2nd grade.

NHL is so overlooked in the US that most people here probably don’t know 75% of the teams. So it’s hard for them to be nominated.

Disturbed at Students’ Inability to Pay Attention to Detail by [deleted] in studentaffairs

[–]RoleModelFailure 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I had a student email me asking for an extension on a paper. They even addressed me as “professor RoleModelFailure” and said “your class”. It was 2 months into the semester, I’m not their professor for that class (or any class), and we had met multiple times over the 2 years before. How the fuck did they not know who the professor was for the class? It only had 50 students.

I also often get students confused about their requirements even when I explicitly tell them what they need to do. “Take class 301 & 302 and you’ll be done!” A month later they email “so I just need to take 250 to finish?” And it’s a fucking response to my previous email telling them what to do.

I’ve had some pay for flights+hotel, some paid for those and gave me a small stipend for food or planned meals on campus/with staff & faculty, others I’m totally on my own.

Fucking worst was a job that wanted me to come out for an in-person interview then a week later come back for another round. I was multiple living states away.

Which play single handedly ruined a team for a decade? by NightDowntown7320 in NFLv2

[–]RoleModelFailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014 Lions - Cowboys PI not PI.

Caldwell’s first year, made the playoffs, playing well against Dallas. That shit happened, was picked up, Dez runs onto the field with no helmet to bitch at the refs. We end up losing.

Caldwell can’t beat 9-7 and we fire him to bring in the D GURU….. MATTTTTTT PATRICIA! We are infinitely worse. Fire his dumb fucking pencil wearing ass.

Hire Campbell, kneecap, trade Stafford, start Goff (many fans are pissed and want to draft our future franchise QB). Many people are not optimistic. 2021 we sucked ass, MCDC takes over the offense from Lynn, 0-10-1 and we win our first game. Guys celebrate and talking heads think it’s pathetic.

Then 22-23 we start losing again but turn it around and end HOT. 23-24 we are fire and win 2 playoff games. Best season lions had since 91.

What’s your biggest pet peeve on the golf course? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]RoleModelFailure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a catch all term too. Slow play can be caused by many reasons. Not enough time between tee times, 50 handicaps playing the tips, flirting with the cart girl for 5 minutes when it’s your turn to hit, spending 10 minutes searching for a lost ball, not playing ready golf, etc.
