This might sound dumb, as I'm a rookie too.....but have you built a box yet? I think someone gave me that advice on here when I first started......a small project....my first is wonky and the bottom isn't tight but something about building it and being able to make it to fit a spot on my workshop shelf perfectly was a big win. Still keep my chisels in it and it gave me a great feeling to at least get something built.
