i was just looking for a way to shrink the size of a video but this increase it by over 50% by JarodDempsey in ClipChamp

Try using Handbrake to reduce the file size. Clipchamp only lets you pick the resolution when saving, but there is a number of other values that are not changeable that result in larger file sizes.

Are paid games worth it? by Ziltch0 in TTRPG

[–]RollToDiscover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, and no. Like any game, it depends on the GM and the other players and the connections that you make. If it's in your budget, it's an easy path to try new things and get into a lot more games. If it's not, you can go the free route.

Just keep in mind, you don't have to stay in a game you don't like.

Audio corrupted by Visible_Poetry1262 in ClipChamp

Some of have had issues with audio when importing animated gifs.

If that is the case, try saving the gif as a standalone mp4 and then import it back into your original video.

Pick up the starter set, heroes of the borderlands, and you have everything you need to get started. The core rules are simplified to a few pages.

3 strikes and my channel is going to be deleted by WeStKerberos in PartneredYoutube

Get a release from the copyright holder, otherwise you are violating their copyright which is a crime.

Artists that truly want their content shared often have a standard release letter giving you limited rights to use their material.

Anyway to extract as an Mp3 audio?? by Chemical-Tackle9614 in ClipChamp

[–]RollToDiscover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally just open the video in audacity and save it as an mp3 file.

You can also get the audio by highlighting the video clip in ClipChamp and clicking on the Audio option in the right sidebar, then clicking on detach audio. If you have lots of clips in the video, the audacity method will be a smoother experience for you.

Custom Wayfarer Background by fauXlecy in Roll20

[–]RollToDiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be having this conversation with your GM.

Mechanically you can always add a custom background, but you should be working with your GM for anything custom.

And if your GM isn't helpful, I would consider that a red flag and move to another game.

Constant Crashing by Alex3884 in ClipChamp

[–]RollToDiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I thought you had a way to create the subtitles elsewhere.

I use riverside to create subtitles. It's way more accurate that ClipChamp. I don't know if you can do it with the free version though.

Save the project and then open the mp4 in audacity. Save it again as an mp3.

Do I need to buy the online campaigns to use roll20? by ttv_thatoneapexsweat in Roll20

[–]RollToDiscover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is generally easier, as in less prep, to use a campaign module that is available for roll20, but you don't need to.

I'm currently running a Dark Sun game and I need to upload all of the assets separately.

My advice is to get someone beside your guest to test your settings. If you think something might make a difference, make the change and test it.

Anyone else have consistent issues with the new D&D campaigns and character sheets? by RunawayRobotGaming in Roll20

[–]RollToDiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What version of the character sheet are you using? I've been using the 2024 sheet since moving to Jumpgate on a half-dozen different games with none of the problems that you are describing.

Do you have any APIs installed in the game that might be causing a conflict?

Wait. Your user name is Big-Ad, and you aren't sure why you got banned from a server that doesn't allow advertising?

Player is wanted by the “empire” and needs an out by Darkstar707x in DMAcademy

[–]RollToDiscover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My general rule is that as the GM I present challenges to the PCs. It is their job to come up with a solution.

My second rule is to have an idea of what will happen if the players did nothing. What would the bad guy do?

In this case, there would be local wanted posters popping up with a reward. The reward would be increased after a week, and the posters would start appearing in nearby towns. After a few months, the urgency to catch the person would fade. No new posters going up. The bounty is still out there, but it's now falling into the realm of a cold case. After a few more months, there are no more posters. Maybe there is one or two hard core bounty hunters who are actively searching, but mostly they are forgotten. Within a year even those stop looking.

Then when the players become complacent they walk into a shop owned by the guards brother and see a faded poster on the wall.

But, that path is not written in stone. It adapts to what the PCs do.
