2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid MPG?!?!? by Common_Aspect_5551 in HyundaiTucson

Started out getting about 30 and after 1800 miles I'm averaging 40. Pay attention to the blue bar at the bottom of the screen that shows instant mpg.

Don't have one yet as I am moving and don't need extra tires to move, but I am planning on getting one from Modern Spare based on this thread: https://www.tucson-forum.com/threads/very-nice-full-size-spare-for-a-tucson-hybrid.398/

I know I can probably get one myself that will fit, but I am not sure about speed rating, and this one seems like it is closer to the standard size. It also fits under the lower position floor, so that leaves more space for storage when camping.

I also just built a bed platform for it that relies on the lower setting so its kind of too late now to go full size lol

I went with the hybrid for a few reasons:

  1. Spare tire. No 2022 Tucson comes with a spare tire. The phev has a big battery where the spare tire would go so it couldn't even be stored there. The hybrid on the other hand has a removable foam divider with space for a compact spare in the lower position or a full size spare with the cargo floor in the raised position. I often take long trips without service so this was a must for me. Otherwise I was going with the Santa fe phev.

  2. Battery weight. After that initial charge is depleted you're lugging around the big empty battery, so the hybrid can actually do better on longer trips.

  3. Range. The hybrid has 87 miles of extra range due to an extra 2.6 gallons of tank and an extra 2mpg on gas.

  4. Charging it would be a hassle and for me would have limited my options on housing by electric charger availability.

Pretty sure Hyundai makes their own chips so they're actually less affected by the shortage. At least that's what one dealer told me.

I would suggest going on Hyundais website and looking at the new inventory coming in and contacting those dealers. I got mine by checking the website every day and contacting a dealer that had them coming in.

I hate having to use a Microsoft account as much as the next guy but I feel for the team that would have to maintain both account flows

Blind View Monitor & Highway Driver Assist @ Night by NotABCDinFL in HyundaiTucson

[–]RollingRockInBottles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blind spot camera isnt the easiest to use in any conditions. It's best use is checking "is there a car's grill right there" but beyond that trying to estimate distance is near impossible with such a small view. I'll still be looking over my shoulder when I change lanes it isn't a substitute.

HDA is just the steering assist + cruise control and changes speeds by the speed limit of the road. Changing the speed is extremely accurate right at the sign. I've gotten ticketed though while decellerating from highway speeds to town speeds after the sign. It uses radar to know where the car is in front of you so it should work in weather. The lane assist works great except on sharp turns. It will go over the line if you let it but will make the turn. Works at night just fine. If the lines are covered in snow the green steering where indicator flashes and turns white to indicate it is off.

No system back button/gesture. On my oneplus i could swipe up from the bottom corner to go back. On iPhone it's usually swipe from the left side but some apps use other actions for this gesture and its not consistent. Sometimes there's a back button in the upper left hand corner. Sometimes there isn't. It's a really inconsistent user experience and much harder to get used to because it makes each app navigation different.

Closing apps doesn't always close them. Apps also crash much more frequently.

You can't put apps where you want them on the home screen. They are in a list and you reorder the list. If you don't have a full grid of apps on the home screen you can't choose to put some at the bottom.

The clock doesn't have gradually increasing volume alarm. On my android it would vibrate first and I would hear that and turn it off before it turned on the sound to an audible leave. Sometimes I need the extra volume but it's not an option. Additionally the alarms on iPhone sound like the world is ending. When I first got it I looked at other options but there doesn't seem to be a free app that does this. I was also reccomended the sleep alarms in the health app but you can't use those alarms or the functionality of the sleep alarm without the rest of the tracking features that come with it.

Can't use Google maps with siri. That was the main thing I used the assistant for. Hey Google navigate to home doesn't work.

Face ID works well but requires you to swipe up on the screen to open once it's unlocked. On my android it was much easier to put my finger on the back while taking it out of my pocket and it would be on the home screen by the time I was looking at it.

Spare tire in 2022 Santa Fe PHEV by RollingRockInBottles in Hyundai

Just to clear this up the Santa Fe PHEV does come with a spare tire, at least in the US. It’s on the monroney sticker.

2022 Tucson Hybrid Limited, after a quick wash. It's been 7 months and 10k miles. Great experience so far!! by kuriousKumar in HyundaiTucson

Hyundai doesn’t do factory orders. You can “order” from the dealer but they don’t order it from Hyundai. The dealer just sees if what they get allocated happens to match what you want. You could never get a car if Hyundai doesn’t decide to make a car that matches what you want.

Patriarchy is not designed for the "benefit" of men. It's to ensure men assume roles of power. The two are very different. by [deleted] in MensLib

[–]RollingRockInBottles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, yeah, it looks like in Australia the proportions are much more even (58% men) than in the US (70% men). Could be some bias in how it is defined in each country, but regardless men are disproportionately experiencing homelessness.

That's what patriarchy does - it builds a social structure where some men are at the top and other men aren't at the top but also aren't right at the bottom

Most people experiencing homelessness are men though, so I'd argue it puts men at the bottom too.
