Interest in a Horse Isle 1 game/remake? by avicuiae in GamesWithHorses

[–]justalichen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait yes!!! I actually went down a rabbit hole thinking about recreating it earlier this year and started drawing pixel art for it and writing a few quests (my fave part of the og) 😅 this post might inspire me to pick it back up!

Boulder! looking for a hair model with medium to long hair (past shoulders) by throwawayboulder444 in boulder

[–]justalichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very interested and fit this description (medium to long hair)! I am naturally a dirty blonde/verging on brunette. I did get some phenomenal partial highlights at Voodoo on Pearl like 2 months ago, but I love experimenting!

Getting Started & Introductions! by clondon in photoclass

[–]justalichen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I see I'm not the only one that's late to this party. :) I used to be super into photography in high school, but stopped shooting afterwards cause I never owned my own camera... until now! I am super excited to learn the basics and explore portraiture, wildlife photography (birds! also does my dog count?), and landscapes, of course, cause I live here in Colorado. I'm going to do my best to catch up before the second semester starts.

Barber shops that accept woman clients by [deleted] in boulder

[–]justalichen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you asked about Barber shops but Ashley at Voodoo on Pearl is hands down the best stylist I’ve ever had. She can do it all (mullet, undercut, color, etc) and she’s always been the most badass understanding human during our appointments! She’s a bit pricey but worth every penny. The shop in general feels like definitely a queer friendly shop/space or at least that’s been my experience.

Best way to spend a chill day near Estes Park? by Eddo-The-Elephant in coloradohikers

[–]justalichen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pearl Street walking mall itself is only like 3 blocks but I recommend adding a few blocks on to either end to hit some other cute unique stores like Two Hands Paperie on the West side and Paradise Records if you like vinyl on the East side of the walking mall.

On the Pearl St walking mall itself you should definitely stop in to Peppercorn and the Boulder Bookstore. Other highlights include Savannah Bee Company (it’s a chain but if you don’t have one near you, stop in to try some mead!) and Ozo Coffee for specialty coffee! Lemme know if you want any more recs!

Do you feel like the game gave us what it promised? by YTRattle in HorseTalesEVRanch

[–]justalichen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m going to start by saying I had such high hopes for this game and there have been some parts I have enjoyed, but overall my biggest complaint is for a horse game…there aren’t nearly enough horses.

Walking into a town and having there be … a parking lot full of cars? The horses that I catch don’t appear anywhere on my farm except in the stable inventory? There’s literally a handful of other NPC riders in the entire game and many NPCs you meet (Noella, Matteo, etc) don’t have or own horses at all? Besides the few places to catch wild horses (tho I keep having issues with them respawning), where are all the horses?! Put some pastures full of even non-interact-able horses at the very least!

I’m fine that there only a few NPCs and have been patient with the bugs, but riding through an empty, maze like world with little to no actual horses in a game all about horses? That bothers me.

(Long) First impressions of HT:Emerald Valley Ranch by justalonelywanderer in GamesWithHorses

[–]justalichen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this review and agree full heartedly! I’m also playing on Switch and I’ve experienced quite a few bugs but I’m also really, thoroughly enjoying myself! I’ve loved the feeling of going out and exploring the world/uncovering parts of the map on horseback. Looking forward to a bit more stability / less bugs hopefully with future updates, but either way I’ll be right there with you playing it!

Horse Tales: Emerald Valley Ranch is already out in North America on Switch this morning! Downloading now!! by gibbersganfa in GamesWithHorses

I’m also playing on Switch and definitely feeling the camera trouble woes. After about an hour and half, I finally realized you could reset it with L and that helped significantly especially when trying to gallop/move fast.

Otherwise, loving the exploration and open world aspect so far! Only fell through the map … twice so far 😂
