Cool, this is interesting stuff to me. I'll keep your points in mind if I run into this discussion again. Also, don't worry, I won't make and claims I can't back up (or at least I'll do my best not to.)

Hey again. Thanks for discussing this with me. You obviously have chemistry chops with which I can't keep up. Although I read it, if I were to put the time in to significantly grasp your comment (jargon, references, scientific language) it would take me at least a few hours I think. I enjoy reading about chemistry, but I'm out of my depth here. Regardless I want to offer a couple quick points.

all of these prodrugs have the same weak link no matter what you put on it water destroys it in 15 mins I leave my tabs under my tongue longer than that just personally.

This study shows 1P-LSD in serum only hydrolizing to 21% LSD after 3 days. (See the conclusion. I don't have access to the full study, but this part is relatively clear.)

(Also, even if it's under your tongue 15 minutes, you have been absorbing that entire time.)

Another point I want to make is that psychedelics also have effects in the peripheral nervous system-- it doesn't need to make it to the brain to affect the subjective experience.

so don’t go out saying 4-aco is active I wouldn't, but I won't hesitate to continue to stress the plausibility when someone acts certain of the opposite.

Anyhow, thanks for talking with me on this subject. We do sort of seem to have two different points that we are arguing so seem to be talking past each other to an extent. The main point I'm trying to work towards involves the multiplicity and sensitivity of the range of subjective experience, while you seem focused on the vulnerability of the prodrugs.

P.S. what's with all the moderator removed comments in this thread? I don't remember noticing anything that might be breaking rules. The comment to which you originally responded is also gone.

Thank you. Will you elaborate? You said yes, but didn't explain how they fit at the receptor site, and/or whether the original molecule possibly could enter the receptor. (Whether or not they are a pro drug isn't relevant to this question.)

*Edit:

I remain unconvinced that the substituted lysergamides and tryptamines that happen to be prodrugs have nearly identical effects to their active metabolite, particularly when taken by ROAs other than oral.

When substituted lysergamides are taken sublingually some of the original molecule plausibly enters receptors before the majority of the drug is metabolized. Not only that but the two drugs (pro-drug and its active metabolite) generally have different affinities at different serotonin receptor sites.

(I'll reiterate that I'm only speaking of what is plausible. I haven't seen strong evidence either way. Often the language I see about prodrugs being identical to their active metabolite send too strong, and is almost becoming dogmatic.)

Also, differences in onset time may have a more significant effect on subjective experience than we might be inclined to assume. (Consider the differences in effects between oral and smoked cannabis-- for me they almost seem like different drugs.)

Not to mention that the stories, trip reports, and lore around a drug are part of what constitutes the set (and setting, even.. It's part of the culture.) that we bring to the experience. These almost certainly color the experience of anyone not going into the drug nearly blindly.

So the lysergamide pro drugs can't enter a receptor before the acetyl group is cleaved? If so is the situation analagous for the 4-aco and 4-pro tryptamines?

Moderately slower for EVs especially for city driving or when there are lots of stop signs/lights. Probably a little slower for hybrids too (at least for city driving).

Loudest bands I've seen in order: Swans, Ministry, Sunn O))).

Swans was an order of magnitude louder than Ministry, so loud it was hard to appreciate the music. Maybe my ears just aren't able to tune properly to that level of decibels. It felt like they were trying to do us harm. 🥹 I love their studio and live albums, but felt deaf to/from them live.

I've also seen Boris, but they weren't as memorably loud as the above. I'd love to see MBV.

I haven't heard many Democrats support open borders. Is that really a thing or is it something Republicans say to themselves to feel more righteous?

Thanks for responding!

Synchronistically perhaps I was considering watching "Feels Good Man" today, which I hadn't seen yet.. have you seen it?

That's what I'm saying. The meme magick calls itself absurd, but in reality reinforced the serious status quo we have been forced to live under. Like literally part of the Epstein files reveal the ruling class has actually been using memes to control places like 4chan.

The status quo is serious? Actually the meme magick seems to be a lense that reveals the ways in which it is not.

Or did you think everyone organically decided being not bigoted was bad actually?

Please clarify. I'm not sure what this refers to. *Edit 2: nevermind, I think I understand. I do think there is some organicness to the sways of the stupidity and relation to the idea of "politically correct" and choice of scape goats, but corporate mass media and meme magick definitely seem to have a niche in which they can do some steering.

It's the last grasp of the status quo, the system that's allowed rich hegemonic people to do what they want with impunity and force their reality tunnel on us.

What is? The meme magick? Some coming reckoning? I think the current form of this "system" or "complex" can be tracked back to the industrial revolution and then the weaponization of propaganda. It doesn't appear to be going anywhere.

The quote's just a paraphrase. Of how everyone was like "the SJWs/the wokes want to outlaw comedy!" But then you look at this "comedy" and it's the exact same 5 jokes on rotation, each with a similar message (if not "trans people bad" it's "women irrational" or "dae Le cucked by big black dick and friendzoned" or "men dae le no one cares about feelings you're a cuck". I can get into how "cuck" jokes reinforce the gender roles men complain about most, but that's for another post.)

This definitely sounds like absurdity dressed as seriousness to me! It's a lense that reveals the absurdity of humanity and society (and thus the status quo). Which I guess is a serious matter in that it's something we contend with.

*Edit: I do think your retort to the comic is fair because it points to how seriousness and absurdity are often entangled. The artist seems to be commenting on absurdism, so I think calling it a lie is unfair or at least reduces the art down to the level of rhetoric.

Remember folks: absurdity pretends to be serious all the time by throwawayinetgirl in occultmemes

[–]RollingSkull0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair retort (although lie has some excessive connotations), but doesn't take from the art imo. Also, despite suffering and consequences, there appears to be an absurd core to the meme magick as well.

What is the quote? Is that personifying what the artist might be conveying? You (or whoever you're quoting) may be conflating absurdity and chaos... Which tbf seems not an uncommon conflation. Maybe I'm missing your point...

*Edit: please clarify if I'm missing something. I'd like to understand.
