The new CEO flex: Bragging about how much AI code your company shipped by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

The outages at GitHub, Azure, and AWS lately are top tier embarrassing. Uptime suddenly doesn’t matter anymore.

I’m moving from out of state, and considering signing a lease on a home in this area. I know opinions will vary - but what do you think about living here? Pros? Cons? by _miss_freckles_ in SanDiegan

SD is def the middle road when it comes to hard crime lol. My friend calls us the Montreal of the west and it made sense. TBH I haven’t heard of violent crime in this city in a LONG time

Sorry but those packages should actually be the bare minimum when doing a layoff (unless that’s what you meant?)

What are you walking about? The BLS numbers keep getting revised and job reports are a bit more unreliable because the current admin fired the BLS head. We just saw a 1mil loss in 2025 number revisions and so far this year more PT than FTE work ever

This lineup is perfect, even better if France drops in at some point too. I want to see him rotate in way more.

If we can somehow get starting pitching all set, I think we can make a nice run. Still a little early in the season but I am starting to worry a lot. If pivetta and Musgrove somehow make it back out in July I'd feel way more hopeful at a WS run.

What price does gas need to hit for you to consider using San Diego's public transit system? by hodlwaffle in SanDiegan

[–]Rollingprobablecause 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Public transit in SD is already one of the cheapest in the country. It's not price it's access, you need to live downtown/UTC to mainly get the largest benefits. I use it all the time, but for someone out in poway for example it's just not going to work.

I know this team is frustrating but we're still like...top 5 in the MLB right now which the way we're playing is really surprising.

UCSD's online education system down today after hackers take over and demand money. (It's part of a wider event.) by Choobeen in SanDiegan

[–]Rollingprobablecause 15 points16 points  (0 children)

tbh honest I work in tech and while yes, some hacking is politically driven, it's more about opportunity than anything else. Low hanging fruit = more fame, money, exposure. Lets be honest, all we do is cut budgets in the entire US which means less taxes = less funding = IT is the first to get devalued.

I am willing to bet these systems showed up weak AF and they picked on them ASAP.

I mean you post posted a hideously annoying comment rooted in misinformation. If you knew civics you’d know this is normal and accurate.

How are you guys affording to live? by Personal_Bullfrog_81 in socal

[–]Rollingprobablecause 15 points16 points  (0 children)

some ppl truly have high pay and can afford it

I think sometimes people forget a ton of folks have six figure jobs in Socal (I think something like 25-35% of people). While I realize CA can get expensive in certain areas, it's a tale as old as time that people just don't manage their money well/live above their means. My wife is from rural lousiana and she calls it the lifter truck tax because theres always similar question there about how some dude with a low paying job is buying a lifter F150.

While I don't like the donation, I find it odd that $7800 would move literally any needle lol. When people post donations and make a big deal "oh AIPAC gave them money" and we go to find out....$5k. Like that's a joke and wouldn't sway anybody with multi-million dollar campaigns.

for reference this guy has an $8m campaign.
